Default The Daily Sun

The Daily Sun has gotten so bad I can't even find any news in it? Pages of advertisements (especially their club restaurants) lots of useless info We used to enjoy it but it looks like we are getting nothing for our money. Think its time to cancel subscription

For less than 20 cents a day, it gives us the crossword puzzle, the letters to the editor, who is at the squares, and a sense of community. not much for the news - that is why we have the online national papers.

I enjoy The Daily Sun.

I call it the happy paper. a few snips and you can save a few dollars at a few places. As already stated you can find out what is going on in the villages. If you want other news try T.V. for your who was killed, who was hurt, etc.

By the time it's printed on paper, it's not news......it's olds.

I wish it were a little less partisan and included some national columnists with diverse viewpoints, but overall I like what I get with the paper.

I did not renew this year because the paper did not do anything for us except fill the recycling bin.

Is this a threat or are you actually going to cancel?

I think if you accept it for what it is and skip the news (which should be easy since there isn't any) and use it as a guide to what is going on it's not bad and the price is right.

As the kids say, "it is, what it is".

Good for what's happening around TV and to have breakfast with.

I for one don't want to hear who killed who, who raped who, and all the bad stuff that happens in the community.

There is always television news and the internet to keep informed.

For what it cost, (17 cents per issue delivered to my door), it's worth it to me.

IN the past I have been VERY critical of the Daily Sun. Between it's blatant politcal leanings, and being little more than a de facto marketing arm for "The Developer" ... IMO it was a joke in terms of being a "news" paper

HOWEVER ..... with the change of ownership / publisher I feel that it has vastly improved. They have started to pick up AP articles that offer more in depth information on topical subjects and I like the new lay out format.

Yes it does have a LARGE amount of ads. That is a function of it's readership demographics (that still tend to read a daily publication) and that it's overwhelming circulation numbers are from subscriptions and not "daily sales" ( coin operated boxes and sales in retail locations). The % of circulation that is from "papers in the driveway" is HIGHLY prized in the newspaper ad sales world.

Yes, it does still have a strong political basis, which is also a demographic factor.

But overall .... IMO a much much better paper than before.
