Never had a problem with DS.
|
If this continues, the Villages Sun could deliver the paper in a snack-size ziptop baggie. Simply delete all the 1/2 & full page ads -esp the car dealers & real estate ones, then print actual "news" in one small section, and fold to fit the baggie.

heads up...you really didn't need to say that you're not one to give up easily ...that was pretty obvious DS is short handed...the delivery people work all night long and are asleep by 7am...most likely after doing some OT filling in for others now....the rain came down in buckets ya might wanna think about cutting them just a little slack interesting that the lack of a newspaper being delivered to your home as usual utterly consumed your whole morning....glad I never had to share a fox hole with you |

ours was wet too....rain happens in FL (another reason we don't have a dog that needs to be walked 1st thing) my wife just used the hair dryer on it and it was fine...might want to give that a try next time |

think about it....you're BS over a 17 cent item and you can't let it go |
Because I'm only at The Villages a few weeks periodically throughout the year I did not want to subscribe.where can I get the newspaper while there without having to order and cancel every time I'm there.nancy

No problem and in 20 years I’m 5 different homes in the villages , I’ve maybe had 3 or 4 wet papers and the few times it’s been missing a very quick call and they have been out with replacement, sorry for your problem but it does seem out of character for the daily sun

I guess I'm lucky, in 9 years we've only had the paper missed once and I went to the mail box and bought one because I didn't want to wait for a new delivery. Yesterday when I heard the thunder at 4:15am I woke up and looked and the paper was in the driveway, so I went out and got it. They are always doubled bagged, and never have a problem with them being wet.

Personally, if someone does not provide the service I was promised, I simply cancel the service. It's a no brainer..
Isn't it nice that when everyone else is complaining about the lack of toilet paper in the stores, your only complaint is the quality of your newspaper delivery service? Life is great, isn't it? |
Sounds like it is an issue with the delivery person. I’ve been here 5 1/2 years and have had the paper not delivered once. Double bagged if there’s even a hint of rain, and carefully thrown to opposite side of driveway if delivered when irrigation system is on. The few times I have called customer service to let them know I will be away for a short period of time they couldn’t be nicer - or more efficient. Never missed correct day to stop and start. The paper is full of stuff I’m not in the market for (today) but given the price and customer service, I will never stop supporting it or our delivery person. The DS office isn’t immune to the changes brought on by this pandemic and perhaps they should be given a little slack!

I had wet paper delivery twice this week. Called office. Once no one ever answered and once they said they’d give me a credit for one day. Couldn’t do anything about the previous day.
Not really much being reported. I may cancel if this keeps up. |
