Default Activities Release Form

Every year, the rec centers ask people to sign an activities release form, even though, if you ever signed one, it never expires. It looks like the form was written by a team of lawyers whose goal was to take away any legal rights you might have in the event anything bad happens to you or your property while you are on Villages property. And, they can take photos of you any use them any way they want. It even says that the release applies to your guests, who may or may not agree to the conditions. I was just wondering if anyone has been denied access to the rec centers for not having signed the release form. It seems to me, that, if the form is important, then The Villages should require it to be executed before issuing your ID card. And, outside visitors attending an event or activity should be required to sign the form.

I have never signed (or seen), or have ever been asked to sign any such document. Probably meaningless anyway. Just call DAN. He'll get 'em regardless.

EDIT: Also ... if you refuse to sign will they refuse you entry to the rec centers? How do they even know whether you ever signed one?

When you go into a rec center, there is always a plastic covered notice on the desk that says, "have you signed the activities release form for this year?"

Since I have never noticed the sign nor have I even been asked to fill it out and I am still permitted in the rec center after they scan my card I guess it isn't an "official do or die requirement." I would think that if it was absolutely demanded they would ask you as you walk in or mail it to you and keep track of who did or didn't sign. I'm not concerned and Dan will still be able to own the Morse's if I fall off a table while dancing on top it !!
