I think this happens everywhere when grocery stores are busy.

We were at TJ MAX today.
A lady was blocking the exit of the check-out lane because she had stopped to text

The worst thing about grocery stores are the inconsiderate people who leave their carts anywhere in the lot. They have those stations for a reason. Nothing worse than watching a perfectly capable human just walk away with cart shoved between two vehicles. Pet Peeve of Mine

One time I was loading the groceries into the back of my car and I pulled a muscle in my back. I left the cart between 2 cars and was thankful that I could get into my car to drive home. Five minutes before I was in perfect condition, then ......so you could have been very annoyed with me I guess.

publix closes at 9 pm. and most of the delis that are located in stores that stay open are closed by then.
and let's not forget to include in the rude group those that love the sample meals at publix and insist on double portions as if publix is there to provide a free meal.

I was told that the new Publix on Rt44 will be opening October 2nd. That should provide some relief for the Colony Publix:a040:

And you can rest assured that these same people would be the first to complain to the store manager in the event that a runaway cart happened to damage their car/cart or, heaven forbid, the cart happened to be abandoned in the last parking space closest to the entrance forcing them to walk an extra step or two.

Yeah, they should go over to Sam's Club for that.

Agee with you totally, it really gets me mad when people do this.

I think we need to give grocery shoppers a break. We are all guilty of parking our cart and then standing in front of the shelves to look for something. And when you are thinking of your list it is easy to get distracted.

A long time ago waaaay back when my kids were small there was a magazine article about how grocery shopping can be one of the most stressful things a person does. And this was when I got to go grocery shopping on Saturday night because I could go by myself without children or husband! Big Saturday night date night! :icon_wink:

I have worked at the publix since it opened in colony and have been able to seperate the just plain rude people from people just having a bad time, illness, financial problems, whatever. The worst are people who come up to me talking on a cell phone and i have to figure out if they are talking to me or the person on the cell phone. Then there are the people who almost push me out the way when i am stocking something they wish to buy. I can usually anticipate people standing behind me waiting and i just get out the way. New store opens thursday oct 2nd. That should help to slow down the colony store until fruitland park chips in.

Would love to know how you can do that. "almost" and "90%" ?
