Default Dental recommendations--Important!

I've read all the posts under dentists, and found them helpful.
However, having been through many similar experiences, especially
with Villages Dental, I now find myself needing extensive bridge work,
crowns and a partial (verified by a second opinion). I cannot ransom
my soul to pay for these. Has anyone had this type of work done to their satisfaction at a reasonable price? Has anyone used the dentists at Magnolia (new to The Villages but
not to the area), aside from those listed here already?

Thanks for any help...I'm new to this board, but this could be very useful.

I had a friend in a similar situation. He was able to fly to China, get his dental work done, and vacation for a little less than the cost of dental work alone in the US. Seems like China is not just for imported products anymore!

I just had a lot of that same done, and the financial impact hurt as much or more than the dental work, I truly sympathize.

And in the past, I'd have snickered about going to China, or India, or wherever (even Mexico from what I understand does a lot of this), I'd seriously consider it now in retrospect.

Best wishes. I don't know The Villages dentists yet.

Check out Dentalplans.com for information on reduced rates for dental work. I just found out about this and will save hundreds by having this card. Relatively inexpensive.

If you're a member of AARP, they too offer a dental plan. I know my brother has it (I think he said he pays between $400-$500 a year), and if you get Delta Dental "Plus", after having that particular plan for a full year, you're even entitled to periodontal work. My brother needed this, and he just went to a Periodontist who was on the list and all the work was covered in full. You may want to review the available information to see how much you could save simply by having this dental coverage. If savings are sufficient, sign up immediately.

Yes, the wife and I just had our check ups at Magnolia. They really seem to specialize in crown and bridge work. We had our routine check ups with cleaning and full extensive xrays. I was having pain in one tooth. They found I needed a root canal. Wife needed a crown replaced and so did I. That was 3 crowns total for the both of us. We were able to do the advertised 3 crowns for 399 each. It was an additional 100 each if you wanted silver instead of nickel for the crowns. The cleanings , xrays, etc came to 60 each. We now have our temporary crowns on , waiting for permanents. We are pleased so far with Magnolia and will continue to use them. The only negative I would say is that you can expect to wait an hour in their waiting room past your appointment time.

My husband used Dr. Whitt for his partial was is extremely happy and was not expensive. I use him for my general examines and for dental cleaning and I think he is the best. He is on 27/441 going south.
