Default Design complete, contract signed! :)

We have only been reading TOTV for 4 months but we have received a lifetime worth of very valuable information, Thank you!!
We had our design meeting last week, signed the contract Saturday and flew home last night....it all went like clock-work, very smooth. We did a few changes....stretches ,etc and we were amazed at the detail the designer (Diane Russell) went through every room, every item. Our salesman, Joe Cosentino did a lot of "prep" work to get us ready and it made a big difference. Now the exciting wait begins. Also wanted to thank all the other Charlotte villagers we met at the Friday night social, very welcoming.
We building an Ivy in village of Charlotte.

Congrats.

If you don't mind sharing, how long or how many days was the process?

Great news! We will be moving in just a few days. That is after 6 or 7 visits/rentals. We are sooooo ready! BTW, what is the Ivy? A new floor plan? Or is it a renamed house? They do that every so often.

The Ivy is a 4BR, 2 BA, concrete/stucco designer. Similar to a Lantana, but with an extra bedroom and a bit larger living area. Nice floor plan!

What can take 3-4 days?

Can you give us an idea of what is done during that time?

I thought it would take a few hours

Floors, cabinets, countertops, hardware, interior lighting, interior paint colors, interior outlets, bathrooms, lanai screen color, stretches, landscaping, faucets, outdoor lighting, exterior paint, floor plan options, window blinds, appliances, outdoor faucets should you wish, ceiling fans, cable connections, window types, towel bars & bath hardware, driveway options, etc etc etc! If you choose granite, I believe you go to a stone yard to choose. You tour some of the models to help make choices. Perhaps a day if you are well organized and 3 if you make a lot of changes? Just harboring a guess there!

Hotrodgirl is right. We must have went into 50 homes. This home to see this faucet, this one to see that faucet, etc. And more homes to look at different tiles, more homes to look at different light fixtures, etc. It was pretty exhausting and I'm in good shape. We also went to the granite yard to look at all of the granite. I was brain dead by the time I got on the plane to go back to Michigan!
