You can change your mind or add something, but it costs $250.00 to reopen the contract. We did it and it seems most people do because you always think of something else. We needed to add recessed lights in the dining and living rooms. We never got to that selection during the initial process.
We have a problem with our hardwood floor and are still trying to resolve it 3 months after moving in. All of our other concerns were taken care of promptly, but the hardwood floor is a lingering problem.

For those of us coming up on our design / choices, what kind of problem are you having with the hardwood?
Thanks

Stretch!!

We did not build the same model but when we built everyone told us to stretch the garage as much as possible and they were right! You never have enough room in the garage. Also, recessed lighting in the master is really nice. More towels in the bathrooms and if you are having an office with a built in desk, you may want to put outlets higher on the wall so you don't have to crawl under the desk to plug in your electronics. I would stretch everywhere I could!

Can you install a central vacuum system during construction of your home?

You mentioned "Insulation". Are their choices / options on insulation like sprayed, spray & bat, bat, or blown in with different R values ???
Thanks

I do not recall the options in the Villages but additional insulation in the atic should be available. Probably not much if any extra in the walls. Also the garage door might be able to be insulated. I would also thin of an atic fan,

Walls R-11, R-30 ceiling except garage can be added by yourself or a handyman in little time & money. Door is not insulated.

The need depends also on the suns orientation, north or south. :read:

We upgraded to an insulated garage door during our design meeting.

Wow. They didn't offer that a couple months ago.

Me either! But I elected for no windows in the door, as my garage faces west. Perhaps that is something they asked for?
