Maybe we should move on, 'cause I think I've herd it all.

After ruminating on the suggestion that this thread cud be given the hoof, I heifer say it's offal that you all mootilated the OP's topic. You are all talking grazy and I'd butter not do that. No whey. I herd very positive comments from a Fruitland Park City Cowmmissioner about the possible deal with TV, but let that go in one ear and out the udder.
I slaughter stop now.

njbchbum 08-24-2013 08:54 AM

kitty - you sure milked that! and it made me smile here in the parlor! ;)

The moderator is going to have a cow if you keep it up!

Back to the subject:

Does anyone think that the new golf cart gate at Belvedere is related? Perhaps the developer is saying: "we don't allow unfettered golf cart access into TV"? Maybe a gate coming at Colony as well?

graciegirl 08-24-2013 10:04 AM

We won't know until the cows come home.

I think you're calfway right, Russ.

Where would the gate at Colony be? We only have a car, so not too familiar with the golf cart paths. Would it be a gate for both, or just the carts?

Political speak for "the envelopes are moving so fast under the table...I'm not sure if I got one."

Last I heard there was a stall over cart accessibility with this deal. Fruitland Park wanted control and Morse wants it his way.

****house....eh, swimming pool rumor...

Love that comment -- are you from Chicago?

I would have a real beef if I ever was to meat a crossed cow by Colony Plaza.

In addition to the 600 acres being discussed in the Fruitland Park area one of the workers at Sea Breeze told me about additional land. Probably just a rumor but he said he was talking to one of the property owners who owns land north of 466A and west of Sandhill golf course. He was told that several of the property owners finally sold approx. 600 acres to The Villages for $40,000,000.

i guess if it was open for all rather than for one or the other - that would be the coward's way out.

Skybo 08-24-2013 07:31 PM

I think it's time for you all to take stock of your opinions.

CFrance 08-24-2013 07:38 PM

Here's my thoughts. Slaughter have the developer be able to expand with Fruitland having cart access than have them be corralled.

Skybo 08-24-2013 07:56 PM

We've just barely grazed the surface of this topic!

I think your news got lost in the excitement of other messages! wouldn't be surprised. I looked at a map. There is open land in that area, not sure there is 600 acres, but who knows. Interesting if true.

It is. But I can't sleep. Got Milk?

Cedwards38 08-24-2013 10:17 PM

It was the former home of dairy cows...........and that's no bull.

ROCKETMAN 08-25-2013 07:32 AM

Publix at colony

If they build on the land in fruitland park and add 3,500-4,000 new residents, publix at colony would get the majority of those shoppers. I have worked there since it opened and that many more shoppers would be mind boggling. Even if they opened a new store on 44 close to Brownwood, colony would be more convenient. The new sweetbay won't make a difference because in my observations, residents don't do their big shopping at sweetbay.

Actually, a retired policeman from our town in Vermont just recently moved to Fruitland Park. He's mentioned that he enjoys coming to "happy hour" at The Villages' squares with his wife.

It's pretty close.......as far as driving distance. Obviously, those residents do come to The Villages and spend their money.

He used to be a deer hunting camp "buddy" of my husband. Sold his Vermont home last autumn, faster than he ever imagined he would. Small World.

Keep dancing. As long as the developer is present and working than things remain nice around these parts.

Don't ever leave Gary.:spoken:

What? The developer buying more land, to keep building more homes, to make more money? How dairy?

I hope it continues on long after the developer stops building homes. Why would they leave when they own commercial properties and a lot of the businesses here?

As my friend Ruthie would say. From your mouth to God's ears.

justjim 08-30-2013 10:38 AM

If the Fruitland Park Villages becomes a reality (and from what I read that is a big if) it would only add six months to building new homes at the current rate of building. No big deal.......
