Default Disposal of US flag.

I have a small US flag on a short pole that you put out on your property for holidays. However, this one flag has come lose from the staple on the pole and I have taped it to the pole. How would one discard this type of flag?

Thanx

John

You might contact someone from the villages Veterans group for more thorough help.

Where to Dispose of an American Flag | Disposal Locations

The local American Legion post should be able to dispose of it properly. Evidently the flag should be burned in a proper manner.

I always dropped it off at the local American Legion. They used an old mail box out front for flags to be placed for disposal.

But why don't you respectfully burn it in your BBQ on July 4th.

I believe the VFW on Rolling Acres road and 466 offers this service.

The Flag Store 211 US-27, Lady Lake, FL 32159. They will dispose of your flag and you can pick up a replacement. Great people also.

Take it down to the Wood Shop and I'm sure somebody there will re-staple it for free.

I am so glad all of you care. It breaks my heart to see our flag disparaged in too many news photographs.

When we moved here we gave our old damaged flag to the Eagle Scout who lived across the street.

I hope there will always be people who love our flag, Eagle scouts and dedicated parents who are scout leaders, veterans we cherish and so many patriotic Americans living close by.
