Do I ever have anything nice to say
I had a reply to a post that asked me if I ever had anything nice to say. Well here it is:
Even on days when I find it hard to get up and walk, I love sitting in front of my computer and having conversation with the members of TOTV. This site is a godsend for many people and I wish to say so now. I have found information here that has saved me money while living in the Villages and more important, I have seen posts by the likes of GracieGirl that lift my heart and make me want to be more kind toward my fellow man. Thank you TOTV for being a part of my life. |

I remember your post about the new Healthcare issue several months ago and thought it was well wriiten. Everyone should be allowed to express their opinion. I will speak only for myself in that I am not at my best when I am not feeling well. I agree with your post about TOTV. I find it entertaining, informative and additive. One of the reasons why I want to move to TV is to be in a place where people are helpful and kind to one another. Hope you feel better. Regards, 2B |

I've only been using TOTV on a regular basis for a few weeks. Never have I thought that Lou Card was a dirt bag or noticed he had nothing nice to say. Lou is a man's man. Nothing wishy washy about him. You ask for his opinion, he'll give you an honest answer. So far we have agreed on topics... and if we ever disagreed we might argue but a man is welcome to his opinion. Hang in there Lou. You have many friends on TOTV.

NOTE: I was told that Fish Oil with Omega 3 fatty acids can help. I have been taking 2000 mg per day for about a month now and I can feel the improvement in symptoms. It may be psychosomatic, but I do feel better. |

Hi Lou,
This is a message board and the beauty of it is that we all get a chance to express ourselves. Not everyone agrees with others, thank goodness. Can you imagine how boring it would be. Disagreement gives us the opportunity to think about what's being discussed, more factually and not emotionally. It's not easy for some to separate emotion from their posts, here as well as the myriad of other message boards on the web. It's just a part of being human. Emotions aren't always bad, but sometimes..... We don't have the opportunity to see the face of the writer or hear the inflection of his/her voice. Sometimes that's too bad, other times....lolol.....maybe not! I'm sorry about that nasty Arthur ..... he has a cousin, Cy Attika and he can be a real pain in the...well, you know. Hope he's not messin' with ya! Glad you're having a feel better day. Message boards offer mental stimulation when our bodies really might need a rest from physical activity for a bit. Keeps us from getting rusty. I guess I'm trying to say is don't let the b******s get you down. Write on, Lou, write on.... Pat

Hi Lou:
I developed a case of Mr. Burr Itis in the hip about seven weeks ago and is a real PITA, (pain in the ...). can't sit for very long without feeling pain. (you know where). Doctor said he though mine was temporary condition). It's much better now and hopefully will be gone by the end of this week. I thought I would not be able to visit TV in September, as I was hesitant to make plans until I was sure I would be able to drive from Ft Lauderdale or sit for several hours in a car or on a plane. It was extremely painful when I first had it. I agree that when I think of other people's medical problems, I am thankful mine are very small in comparison. I think the TOTV members are great and find it very reassuring when I need to ask for advice and wind up getting an answer immediately. IMHO - 99.8% of people are nice and generally are understanding. This forum helps me to feel that we are communicating with people who are helpful and very nice. I tend to avoid people who are named PITA and everyone's entitled to have a bad day. My mother always use to say, "it doesn't cost nothing to be nice". |

Hi Lou. Keep writing. TV is nothing if not a great place for everyone to express their opinions. On the arthritis thing, for the last couple years I have been taking advantage of a "home remedy" that, Honest to God, works. I read about it in a local newspaper column by an MD who said he has had dozens of patients swear by it, and while he doesn't know why it works, he believes it. Take Golden Raisins (NOT regular raisins) soak them in gin until the liquid has been absorbed (a couple days), and then eat 8-10 in the AM and again before going to bed. I swear my arthritis is a LOT better since I started, and if I skip a few days, I notice it. May be an old wives tale, but my old wife will tell you it works!
