Taltarzac 05-03-2010 07:49 AM

Now here's a golf cart that you would not need to personalize!

http://stylecrave.com/2010-03-31/the...nuit-golf-car/

I would not like you would need your name on this one even if it seems quite extravagant. It is the $52,000 Garia Edition Soleil de Minuit Golf Car. The little refigerator is neat though.

Taltarzac 05-03-2010 06:32 PM

99 responses in the poll so far.

Hopefully, we will get some more. Male name on the driver's side is winning but not by as much as I thought it would.

Taltarzac 05-06-2010 01:01 PM

A solar powered golf cart probably would not need to be personalized.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19417205/

I have never seen one of these solar powered golf carts in TV but then again I do not golf so I guess my potential exposure to them is severely limited.

BaylorBear 05-06-2010 02:34 PM

The hubs name is on driver's side and mine on passenger's side. We also have our college decals on the cart! We refuse to grow up!

Taltarzac 05-08-2010 06:30 AM

I have seen that a lot in TV. College decals on golf carts.

Or, license plates that have their alma maters and/or favorite teams (college, pro, high school) on them.

Go Buffalo.

graciegirl 05-08-2010 09:11 AM

We have friends, Fred and Nancy who bought a used golf cart and there were names already on it. Nan and Mel.

They scraped off the L in Mel and they were set.

Nan and Me.

Taltarzac 05-08-2010 10:48 AM

"Me" certainly fits all kinds of situations.

For all those psychology majors out there, what would "Nan and I" signify??

I was curious, so I googled it. Foundation for Shamanic Studies. http://www.shamanism.org/index.php How did you know Tal? I had never heard of it.

I gave a few second's thought to getting "Position Vacant" for the passenger's side, but thought it disrespectful of my late wife!

:beer3:

I think that would have looked neat, but totally understand why you didn't.

Taltarzac 05-09-2010 09:50 AM

How would you like to drive this golf cart up Buena Vista's golf cart paths?

http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/...golf_cart.aspx

I also wonder what it's top speed is. I would guess at most 14 m.p.h.

Would not need your name on this one. Here comes Goliath in his 21 foot golf cart.

Russ_Boston 05-09-2010 10:05 AM

I think they'd have a little trouble getting out/in some of those TV tunnels! :)

Taltarzac 05-09-2010 11:30 AM

That's true. It would probably get stuck in many of them.

Some of the tunnels do not even seem 21 feet long.

Just think if you got stuck behind the world's longest golf parade while waiting to go through a tunnel. http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/...lages-guinness

This article puts the Villages population at 52,000. No wonder it is from 2005! I wonder why that record has not been topped again.

swrinfla 05-09-2010 05:08 PM

Tal:

First, probably because we broke the old record so badly no one sees a need to try again! It was close to 1,100 (folks in Sun City Center, near Tampa, early Spring 2005). We gathered better than 3,200.

Second, my memory is that Sumter County Sheriff Bill Farmer and/or his staff actually capped our try for logistical reasons! There were rumors that 10,000 wanted to participate!

As it was, it took some four hours to pass a given point!

It was fun event!

I noticed that the Villages phone book lists the male first and then the female. Now that you mention it I just realized my husband always says hello we are Trudy and Larry. And the response from the Hubby in the other couple is usually Hi Im Bob (Joe, Fred , whatever) and this is my wife so and so. Never noticed that my hubby introduces us backwards as far as convention goes.

You mentioned Bob and Carol. Have Ted and Alice moved away? :024:

Taltarzac 05-10-2010 07:04 AM

This sampling was just a few paragraphes from the Villages Phone Book.

Ted and Alive just do not have the same last name's first letters as Bob and Carol. These names were just a few inches f names from one page in the Villages Phone Book.

On another note about the varities of golf cart and how one might stick out. How would you like to hear this boom box affixed golf carton your closest golf course at 7 a.m. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xs_GS9-W284[/ame]

Geez Tal,
You are not an "old geezer" afterall if you don't remember the movie, "Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice".

Taltarzac 05-10-2010 09:18 PM

I do remember the film "Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice".

I wonder if I will ever see that on a Villages golf cart-- "Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice." I suppose Bob and Alice could have two dogs named Carol and Ted. My dog's name used to be Paul.

It would be funny to put those names on a four seater.

SABRMnLgs 05-10-2010 10:14 PM

In plastic

Our 1st names are on our golf cart but in vynel peel offs.

Jerry and Melanie

Army Guy 05-11-2010 06:37 AM

Alice, who the H@ll is Alice???? (Only Scooter fans will get that)!
Yes, I do remember Bob, Carol, Ted and Alice. It was the first risque movie I saw.

Army Guy

Taltarzac 05-11-2010 07:38 AM

I hope Alice did not have a golf cart that sounded like this.

Darn! No sneaking in at night with that!

Check out the lifted golf carts for how to...

...make your golf cart stand out.

http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...53697648DgxHPx

Taltarzac 05-12-2010 03:36 PM

Now with this approach you would not need any name on your golf cart.

http://fxb.worth1000.com/entries/359...ying-golf-cart

Something seems quite off with this picture as we would need a driver.

Taltarzac 05-13-2010 11:16 AM

Monster golf cart.

Would not want to get in this guy's way on the fairway. http://www.funnyhub.com/pictures/pag...golf-cart.html

Taltarzac 05-14-2010 06:59 AM

Here's a cool article about Villagers and their golf carts.

http://www.wired.com/cars/coolwheels...17-10/ff_ecars

Check out the gallery of Villagers with their golf carts too. http://www.wired.com/cars/coolwheels.../gallery_ecars

Taltarzac 05-14-2010 03:19 PM

"Sluggo" and "Princess" names on a golf cart.

Wonder if this golf cart driver likes the comic Nancy? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nancy_(comics)

Taltarzac 05-15-2010 07:35 AM

2910 first time poll viewers and 135 voters.

What's wrong with this picture. :what:

That does seem to be fairly successful for a poll though with that many first time viewers. I wonder if the voters are a representative sampling of golf cart owners in TV?

Taltarzac 05-17-2010 05:42 PM

There's another way to make your golf cart remarkable.

http://golf.about.com/b/2005/10/16/a...pants-open.htm

https://waystogive.texaschildrens.or...e.aspx?pid=510

You could always add some of these pants somewhere on your golf cart. Doubt if many people would have an urge to steal these pants.

Taltarzac 05-18-2010 10:05 AM

You probably would not want your name on your golf cart when this happens.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xS5LB5GBBg[/ame]

Taltarzac 05-21-2010 12:27 PM

Probably do not need your name on a golf cart if it doing donuts on a pool's bottom.

http://www2.eprisenow.com/ent/news/l...of_pool/65874/

Taltarzac 05-22-2010 09:27 AM

Probably need more than a golf cart on this golf course.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/8319749.stm

"Eighteen holes spread over 1,365 km (848 miles) of outback terrain that can take as long as seven days to play...." From above linked story.

Taltarzac 05-24-2010 10:01 AM

Wonder if this is Alice Cooper without the make-up?

http://www.strangevehicles.com/content/item/134916.html

I had heard that Alice Cooper is some kind of golfer.

Taltarzac 05-25-2010 09:18 AM

I did not catch any names on these golf carts???

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFant65IwNw[/ame]

Taltarzac 05-26-2010 07:14 AM

Now this would tear up the fairways' greens around TV.

http://jalopnik.com/5473646/india-bu...tric-golf-cart

It's an armored electric golf cart. Wonder how long it will take for one of these to show up in the latest James Bond movie?

Taltarzac 05-27-2010 09:35 AM

The Villages has an entry in the History of Golf Carts!

http://www.articlesbase.com/golf-art...ts-519071.html

They did not mention names on golf carts though. :grumpy:

Taltarzac 05-28-2010 09:34 AM

How is this for a Memorial Day golf cart?

http://www.rd.com/advice-and-know-ho...babe772a9&rp=1

Would not need a name on this one.

Taltarzac 05-29-2010 06:48 AM

Now this is a distinctive looking golf cart.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNX_wiGcJzQ&feature=related[/ame]

Taltarzac 05-30-2010 06:13 PM

You could almost putt through the bottom of this golf cart.
