We have friends, Fred and Nancy who bought a used golf cart and there were names already on it. Nan and Mel.

They scraped off the L in Mel and they were set.

Nan and Me.

"Me" certainly fits all kinds of situations.

For all those psychology majors out there, what would "Nan and I" signify??

I was curious, so I googled it. Foundation for Shamanic Studies. http://www.shamanism.org/index.php How did you know Tal? I had never heard of it.

I gave a few second's thought to getting "Position Vacant" for the passenger's side, but thought it disrespectful of my late wife!

I think that would have looked neat, but totally understand why you didn't.

How would you like to drive this golf cart up Buena Vista's golf cart paths?

http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/...golf_cart.aspx

I also wonder what it's top speed is. I would guess at most 14 m.p.h.

Would not need your name on this one. Here comes Goliath in his 21 foot golf cart.

I think they'd have a little trouble getting out/in some of those TV tunnels! :)

Taltarzac 05-09-2010 11:30 AM

That's true. It would probably get stuck in many of them.

Some of the tunnels do not even seem 21 feet long.

Just think if you got stuck behind the world's longest golf parade while waiting to go through a tunnel. http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/...lages-guinness

This article puts the Villages population at 52,000. No wonder it is from 2005! I wonder why that record has not been topped again.

Tal:

First, probably because we broke the old record so badly no one sees a need to try again! It was close to 1,100 (folks in Sun City Center, near Tampa, early Spring 2005). We gathered better than 3,200.

Second, my memory is that Sumter County Sheriff Bill Farmer and/or his staff actually capped our try for logistical reasons! There were rumors that 10,000 wanted to participate!

As it was, it took some four hours to pass a given point!

It was fun event!

I noticed that the Villages phone book lists the male first and then the female. Or, it looks that way from most of the names from which a certain gender is a strong possibility-- Bob and Sissy; Dick and Dora; Bob and Carol; Edmond and Carol Ann; Normand and Georgie; Thomas and Ardis; Richard and Joy; Al and Carol; Frederick and Patricia; Robert and Suzanne; Raymond and Jane; Norman and Lorraine; John and Sue; Joe and Barbara; Robert and Georgia; Dennis and Linda; Peter and Margaret, etc.

Now that you mention it I just realized my husband always says hello we are Trudy and Larry. And the response from the Hubby in the other couple is usually Hi Im Bob (Joe, Fred , whatever) and this is my wife so and so. Never noticed that my hubby introduces us backwards as far as convention goes.

You mentioned Bob and Carol. Have Ted and Alice moved away? :024:

Taltarzac 05-10-2010 07:04 AM

This sampling was just a few paragraphes from the Villages Phone Book.

Ted and Alive just do not have the same last name's first letters as Bob and Carol. These names were just a few inches f names from one page in the Villages Phone Book.

On another note about the varities of golf cart and how one might stick out. How would you like to hear this boom box affixed golf carton your closest golf course at 7 a.m. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xs_GS9-W284[/ame]

Geez Tal,
You are not an "old geezer" afterall if you don't remember the movie, "Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice".

Taltarzac 05-10-2010 09:18 PM

I do remember the film "Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice".

I wonder if I will ever see that on a Villages golf cart-- "Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice." I suppose Bob and Alice could have two dogs named Carol and Ted. My dog's name used to be Paul.

It would be funny to put those names on a four seater.
