Default Does anyone know what happened at the Duval Pool

Just went by the Duval Pool a short time ago. There were fire trucks and police and the entrances were closed.

We drove by around 1:00 p.m.to get the mail, but the entrances were closed. Also wondering what is going on. Lots of police and we saw one fire truck at the entrance.

Here's the only entry in the Sumter County EMS log for today:

Somebody dropped a briefcase/cosmetic case off their golf car and a thoughtful person put it by the mailboxes. It was regarded as a suspicious package...thus the large public safety response. Better safe than sorry.

Yessirree, it is always better safe than sorry, especially when our safety and security are at stake.

But now that the tense afternoon is behind us, it might be an OK time to post something that came to mind when we started following the thread.

The clip comes from a classic film about the pastime about which so many Villages are so passionate, and it relates to fellow seniors reacting to a compromising issue of FEAR.

Sometimes, as this Gem portrays, FEAR means False Evidence Appearing Real!!

Of course we still wonder why such a venue would be a target of a dirty nuke or whatever 'bad guys' put in briefcases.
