Default Does UPS Delivery in TV

We had something sent UPS because we didn't know how to get mail. It occurred to me I don't know if they are allowed to deliver to homes here?????

I've erased my previous post since it may have been misleading. I'll simply concure with cathyw that UPS will deliver directly to your door. Also, they may just drop it and leave even if your not there to accept it. If you're going to be away from the house and you're expecting the delivery, ask a neighbor (if you can) it they would watch for it.

Hi Dave, I see you are renting for a month. Each home has a mailbox at the closest postal station (in your case Sunset Pointe) Usually, the owner will give you the key and let you know the number of the mailbox assigned to your home. Then you can forward your mail to your Villages address and just go pick it up.So ask the owner for a key and then you can just have your mail sent directly.

old dave -for the future - if your landlord will not give you a key - you can rent a mailbox at the pack and ship in colony shoppping center and have your mail sent there. it takes approx 2 wks for the usps to get your forwarding info keyed into their system and the mail flowing, so it prob won't work for ya this trip.

if you have someone to gather your mail together, they can put it into a usps mailer pouch and send it for a cost of $4.95 - until the next price increase!

and if you do not get or want a mail box and you have that friend who can gather and mail for you, you can have that usps pouch sent to you c/o general post office delivery at the p.o. that happens to be nearest to where you are renting [lady lake, wildwood, etc]. i just suggest that you stop by whichever p.o. is close and let someone on the staff there know that is how your mail is being sent to you.

hope this helps.

Thanks all. We haven't had anything sent other than by UPS and my daughter is at home dealing with mail.

I hadn't thought to ask the owner about mail, just assumed. When we got here the key to the mailbox was included, so we're all set.

Thanks again.

Dave

Dave, I am a retail shipping store in Wilson, N.C. and I have shipped to the Villiages many times. I ship lots of NC bbq from here. My wife and I plan to move to the villiages in about 15months.

UPS has been delivering parcels at Christmas time by golf cart in recent years! Yes, they come right to your door!
