It not meant just for the people with limited physical abilities it just happened in ,y cars this is what I saw from my window .Everyone who has a dog should take care and not walk on other peoples lawns. As to the guy with the spikes I hope he is not in my neck of the woods .Seems I hit on a topic that has been around a while sort for hashing it up again

Hey... Play nice. I think your comments towards GG are unnecesary . No one was attacking you, her response was a generalization directed towards no one in particular and about character.

I have been coming here since 1995 and lurking on this board since 2008 and living here since 2011. In the early days of the Villages these kinds of issues came out in a letter to the editor, in a column called weed and flowers....

This point is this problem exists elsewhere and has been going on for a long while. The problem is not going away and our character determines how we deal with it.

I agree with Mr. Grampi. Actually, if Gracie was responding toward anyone in particular, it would have been to the OP. But I don't think she was. I think she was making a generalization, and I agree with her sentiments and her right to express them without being stormed.

One of the greatest compliments I ever received was from an old neighbor, that most recently said "I am jealous of your new friends and neighbors" . I take exception to you inferring I am "finding stuff to fight about".
If you're so tired of it, refrain from commenting. Go on to the next post with a title having nothing to do with "dogs", "poop", "respecting property".

My comment was made in the interest of maintaining civil, public discussion, period. You could have directed your response to a lot of people, I would have responded the same way. I do respect your opinion on this, just did not care how you delivered it.

BTW :Calling people names is kinda high school....I have been called a lot of things in my life but never a minion. I was born and raised in Detroit so nothing you could say would bother me.

No blood, no foul, have a nice day!

Back on topic... there's no reason why you can't keep your dog off of other people's property. If it's so hot he can't walk on the pavement and therefore you feel he must walk on the grass, it's too hot for him to be out walking anyway. I mean, at some point you would be needing to cross a street or a sidewalk. So if it's too hot for that, you shouldn't be out. Stay home till the late evening or early morning.

As for the guy on the scooter... We had that in our neighborhood in MI. The gentleman chose routes with sidewalks and did not allow his dog a long enough lead to get onto people's yards. He has MS, is on his second dog, and I never once saw that dog take a dump while on his walks. He must go in the yard before leaving home, and the man keeps the wheelchair and the dog moving.

It's about respect for others' property.

Some if not many of these wildlife examples poop in our yards and no one picks it up nor seems to be bothered by it. If the pet owners are picking up, is it really a big problem? It seems to me that simply being courteous by staying as close to the street as possible and picking up immediately after should be workable. And yes, if it bothers you as much as it apparently does some folks, put out the little "bad doggie" sign and I bet most Villagers will move on to a more welcoming neighbor's yard if they are not close to their own. Because they are not breaking any laws or violating any neighborhood restrictions, don't let this issue ruin your day.

Pest Control for Wildlife and Animals

Mr Hollander.....

Other animals come along and pick up disease and get sick from your fecal matter. Why would you just spread fecal matter all over the yard?? If you go to that effort to spread and step in Dog Poop over and over; why not be clean and safe; just pick up your mess and take it home. I wonder if you ever wash your gold shoes……bet your house smells real good too. Use the Brain God gave you.

Also, if you are disabled, lazy or cannot walk your animals ; why not pay someone to walk them for you…….animals need exercise too.
