The 14th Girl Scout Alumnae s Pajama/Book Drive concluded 12/12 with a very successful collection of 9,633 pajamas and 6,776 books! These will be distributed through Marion County’s homeless and Needy Childrens Program and the Childrens Alliance of Sumter and Lake Counties. This could not have happened had not the Villages allowed us in 44 recreation centers to house the red collection boxes nor without the generous support of the Villagers who took the time to donate these new pjs and books. Many clubs donated as a group, and monetary donations helped get the sizes needed to fill the list provided by the social service agencies. Without the print and non-print media word out, these children would not be as fortunate. Thank you all so very much!
