As far as I can tell, it is a boilerplate form. You just change the names and the address.

It seems like that shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes and the cost should not be over $100.

Can any lawyers tell us how long it actually takes to draft one of these?

No, you have find information on you deed that describes you’re lot exactly.

If the lawyers do leg work filing the fee maybe worth it for some than don’t want fool with it. Otherwise take 20 mins, most of that finding and figuring out what on your deed. Some people just like paying lawyers $300 plus hour for self explanatory forms.

For me it was the easiest thing I ever done at county. Cost me $ 22.50 filing fee.

So what if you mess up. It is only your children who will face the dread of trying to fix your legal mistakes.

I can't wait for a posting on do-it-yourself open heart surgery! Why pay a doc when we all have sharp knives in the kitchen!

So, are you lawyer? If so explains that? what’s legal and shape knives are not right tool for job. But ladybird deed is legal and cut out over charged lawyers fees. They get enough welfare money from criminal defense system.

To me, it is about the cost. Comparing preparation of a legal document to open heart surgery is not an apples to apples comparison because open heart surgery is usually paid for by insurance, not the patient. But you don't say anything about the legal fee to prepare a simple document. I would be happy to pay a lawyer $200 to $250 to prepare a ladybird deed, which I would consider a reasonable fee for their time. But I wouldn't pay $10,000. I have asked several lawyers and they won't do it for $250. How much would you pay a lawyer?
