Filtered tap water. Bottle water is no better has too many chemicals from the plastic bottle

More important than the debate of tap water vs bottle water vs whole house system etc. etc. is to drink adequate water each day. Most people don't drink enough water daily and that is a fact. Personally, I think the tap water in TV is more than adequate but to each his own!

I tried using the filtered fridge water for coffee, but didn't taste much difference so quit doing it because it took much longer to fill the pot, but perhaps I should just keep a pitcher of it in the fridge to use for coffee and cooking.

I have a GE refrigerator that came with the house and have had it for almost 8 years. I never knew that there is a water filter in the fridge. Where is it?

John....Does your fridge have the water dispenser on the front? If not, you won't have a filter....

My tap water is in my opinion excellent here in the historic district. I wouldn't waste my money on bottled water.

John do not drink that water no carbon can last that long.

In aquariums if carbon is left for more than 4-6 months it actually releases the contaminates that were trapped.

Get it changed please

We do have a water and ice cube dispenser on the front of our fridge, but no filter.

We were previously drinking bottled water and using it to make coffee. We put an under-the-sink filter on our cold water line in the kitchen. Now we drink that water and use that water in our Keurig.

If you have a water and ice cube dispenser on the front of your frig you should also have a filter. Check for the filter either at the top right back inside of the frig or in the kick panel area of the frig. Usually there is a light on the top edge of the frig that shows green when the filter is good but will change to red when it needs replacement.
