Director?

Do you mean an official of the Villages Community Development Districts? Movie director? Library director? Code for a control freak??

We had a neighbor who was big in Villages' local politics and he was one of the best neighbors' we have had anywhere.

Some Library Directors are great people; some are real *********s! And some are something in-between.

Probably the same with movie directors.

I have dealt with a lot of library directors since 1983-1984 or so. First in library school at the University of Denver getting my MA and then later while investigating practical materials for survivors/victims of crimes in libraries and attitudes towards these starting about the same time with the Law Library Director at the University of Denver Law Library, Al Coco, Jr. He has been kind of a role model in my work. http://www.nccu.edu/formsdocs/proxy.cfm?file_id=2779

Most neighborhoods have their own AEDs, and a trained squad of your neighbors to administer it. In addition, many buildings have them, each rec center has them, all Community Watch trucks have them. Then there are all the firefighters, police, and 250 volunteers in the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). All of these folks are the reason why, if you have a sudden cardiac arrest, the survival rate in TV is 60% vs 7 % nationally.

:)

I have to stop getting involved in discussions like this dbussone that should improve my chances of survival greatly. Just Kidding. I did know the rate was much higher for survival but I never knew why. Bravo to those who give of themselves for others. That is a beautiful thing. I would like to be involved in the support of these wonderful people in a way I can handle when we land. Amazing stuff!

I know a lot of them. They are everywhere. I do wonder what Freud would have made of these people? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megalomania

What is Megalomania? (with pictures)

If chatbrat said something, it might change the way they do things. If he didn't say anything, it definitely won't.

My thoughts also. :agree:

They are probably very unfamiliar with golf carts in a setting other than golf courses.

Can you see getting around in a golf cart in the streets of Columbus, Ohio; New York City; Tampa; Las Vegas, or how about Los Angeles?

I will admit that I'm not perfect when driving my golf cart but what I've seen twice just this week blew my mind. In one instance, there were 2 golf carts sitting side by side on the cart path and had to use my horn to get them to move (no way to get around them). Then tonight, I'm going north on the path on Morse and right where there is an option to go right and to a tunnel, there were 3 carts sitting in the middle of the path. It was dark and again no way around or through them. If your lost, want to chit chat with someone, get the hell off the cart path. Now I feel better.

Had that happen to me many times. The thing that really bothers me is that they give you the evil look and attitude and make sure they take their sweet time moving.

That would bother me too. I have not had that happen fortunately.

Yesterday I was coming out of the Southern Trace Shopping Center in the golf cart and there is a side golf cart path that is rather steep. There was a man waiting to turn onto the level T-bone golf path. He turned around and told me to back up as he might move back when he started moving. Nothing was in back of me so I did so. And his golf cart did fall back about three feet when he started his turn. Just good courtesy driving on his part.

I shouted if anything goes wrong those kids are going to get hurt @ best. My wife said-hope you guys are real strong.

If you got guests with infants leave the cart home--use your Car--the infants will never know what they were riding in.

I find myself in the uncomfortable posit:ho:ion of agreeing with you 100% :ho:

the simple physics p (momentum) = m (mass) x v (velocity)
20mph = 29.33 ft per sec
10lb child x 20mph = 293 ft/lbs per sec so if the cart came to an instant stop son in law in back is trying to hold almost 600 lbs of baby --- ain't gonna happen.

To the OP, I hope they heard you. People get all happy coming to paradise and do not know carts are treacherous.
See something, say something, when every nerve in you wants to protect life.
There should be a state law, hell with development policies.
But then, motorcycle riders do not have to wear helmets. Man down, they call it when another one dies.
Rant over.

Yesterday I saw a smart granny, she had a 5 year old strapped in with a double shoulder harness an across the chest belt-that kid will stay in his seat.

I saw three or four kids strapped into a golf cart last week. They were all smaller children but they each were seat belted in some way.

According to the online paper a juvenile driving a golf cart ,got injured yesterday- the photo is quite convincing--for not having infants or small children in a golf cart

Very convincing , unless you are blind

If you don't have kindness in your heart, it's not going to come across as if you do, regardless of your words. If you truly mean well, your motives will likely not be questioned.

You just couldn't have said what I believe any better.

I don't say anything to people because if they are that stupid to have 4 or more infants/children without seat belts in a golf cart than they wouldn't understand anyway! Goes right back to 'can't fix stupid'!

Bingo! I guess a lot of folks think bad things can't happen on a golf cart.
