Not sure if this is the same place folks are talking about, but sure looks like the location.

Agree. Have been many many times running up the hill that is now a tee on Volusia. It is a wonderful place for a view and is odorless.

Some RC model members took used lumber there recently and the dump refused to take it because it was treated lumber. So they must be pretty picky about which construction materials they accept.

Unfortunately, it does smell. You can smell it when you are driving along Morse Road or when you are golfing at one of the adjacent golf courses, or when you are at the Sarasota golf center, or at one of the many houses built nearby.

You are smelling something else.

Looks to me like you got it. :crap2: Any real concerns---I would attend the public meeting "listen" and voice any concerns. The new Village of Fruitland Park is just east of this site. I would think the Developer would see to it that the landfill was closed if there was a even a slight problem with it----no way they would want to jeopardize those high priced homes.

I think the tour guide was right......there is virtually no crime here. There are 57 thousand houses here, assuming 20 break ins a year, oh heck, lets say 50, maybe 100. or 500. that is still virtually no crime. Compare to other 100K population communities and I think you will understand how truthful he was.

Somebody's concerned?

I have yet to see the developers do anything that didn't end up beautiful.
It's in their best interest.
