Default The Villages web site way back in 1996

It’s fun to reflect on the way it was to help formulate a picture of what the future might look like. I love to use the internet WayBack machine for that purpose.

Thank-you very much for sharing.

The way-back machine was invented by Mr. Peabody on the Rocky and Bullwinkle show, if memory serves me well. His sidekick was Sheman.

I went looking for the prices of homes back in the day following your links but came up empty. Did I do something wrong? Or that may be in a private database and unavailable.

I think when I was young Florida realtors had a reputation for selling swampland and empty promises to us northerners.

This place is all that it promised to be. I love it here.

Unfortunately, only a few pages of each web site for a particular date are stored when saved in the snapshot and most databases are excluded because of space issues. My interest was in looking at all of the changes that have taken place in the Designer Holly builds. I love the Bridgeport and Boxwood designs but talked myself into the less expensive Holly which is very similar and fine for us.

I did notice that I can see some information on asking prices starting in 2012 as the open house page is saved.

In 2009 they would offer a FREE Market Analysis of your house

and in 2010 special Home closeouts

https://web.archive.org/web/20100205...s/closeout.asp

Love the history of things!
