Durability of Painted Cabinets
We are remodeling our kitchen and want to change our natural maple cabinets to a white finish. Some contractors paint, but others say that paint is not durable. They say the it can chip, peal and wear. Some resolve this by replacing doors and either refacing the base or painting with lacquer. Both of the latter are more expensive than just painting. So the question is just how durable is paint if it is properly applied by a professional?

Steve's Onsite does AMAZING work and he does lacquer paint. It is stunning when he is done. 352-603-6402- tell him Ron and Roni Goldman referred you. Let him give you an estimate. Read reviews on TOTV to see about him. He is not fast but he is meticulous. I have used him for 5 years; EVERY YEAR!

If the cabinets are older, they will probably have some cooking grease on them, this will interfere with the adhesion of paint. If doing this yourself, make sure you follow mfg instructions for cleaning prior to painting. If having this done by others, ask them about this.
