The Villages has a lot of construction dust and blow sand in some areas. We are in a new area south of 44 and notice it on the cars daily. The outside air has dust particles in it and we add that to the dust of daily living and the dirt mounts
I am allergic to house dust so I noticed the increase in dust right after we arrived. I am also an IAQ/xxxx engineer.
Here are steps to consider.
Use small rugs at all entrances to trap dirt. Wash frequently.
Minimize carpets and drapes. They are dust collectors. Use easy to clean area rugs with hard surface floors like vinyl, wood, tile, etc.
Use HEPA or better air cleaners in the bedroom at least for healthier sleep. If you can HEPA filter the house ventilation, that is the best fix for generated house dust.
Central vacs are great, as well and hepa filtered vacuums. They reduce adding to the home.
I use microfiber mops and don't let the settled duct become airborne again. I love my robot vacuum, and I empty it in the garage ... carefully. We leave shoes by the door and notice immediately if the floor feels 'crunchy'. The robot vac works well.
I dust with microfiber cloths and vinegar water spray and wear a mask when necessary.
The house dust is noticeably reduced.
Hope that helps.
