The Villages has a lot of construction dust and blow sand in some areas. We are in a new area south of 44 and notice it on the cars daily. The outside air has dust particles in it and we add that to the dust of daily living and the dirt mounts

I am allergic to house dust so I noticed the increase in dust right after we arrived. I am also an IAQ/xxxx engineer.

Here are steps to consider.
Use small rugs at all entrances to trap dirt. Wash frequently.
Minimize carpets and drapes. They are dust collectors. Use easy to clean area rugs with hard surface floors like vinyl, wood, tile, etc.
Use HEPA or better air cleaners in the bedroom at least for healthier sleep. If you can HEPA filter the house ventilation, that is the best fix for generated house dust.
Central vacs are great, as well and hepa filtered vacuums. They reduce adding to the home.
I use microfiber mops and don't let the settled duct become airborne again. I love my robot vacuum, and I empty it in the garage ... carefully. We leave shoes by the door and notice immediately if the floor feels 'crunchy'. The robot vac works well.
I dust with microfiber cloths and vinegar water spray and wear a mask when necessary.
The house dust is noticeably reduced.

Hope that helps.

It’s not wind, it’s tropical breeze from east or west coast which ever makes it here first.

I regularly am thankful that the inmates are not running this place.
I was being sarcastic due to some of bails set in Sumter county for felony offenses. Especially the punks that beat the waiter to death at spainish springs. Has nothing to with The messiah that running this place.

We had Sunshine Air install air knight air purification system on our A/C. Besides purifying the air it also keeps down the dust. It has worked great.

Burning. They love to burn here. And we are worried about pollution.

Default Dust

We contacted Munns and they installed a special filtration system on our unit. Made a big difference. Somewhat costly though.

something surprised me, our place in Rio Ponderosa, just north of 466....was not tyvec wrapped, nor was our neighbor's house. I guess that was not part of the building code 20 years back. I has to affect dust level for us.

I went to a MERV 13 air filter and it has decreased our dust issue- not solved it but decreased it.

Some of the quotes, the worst dust they ever had, were lucky they never lived in Arizona near the dessert, even after a cleaning you could see the dust landing back on my furniture, and especially my black stainless steel appliances, after awhile you just don’t look close.I have here in the villages the best dust buster , her name is Kathy and she comes once a week God bless her
