in my experience using my club car electric cart in the villages every day for the past 8 years. batteries last 3 to 5 years depending on how well they are taken care of( properly filled with distilled water, tops cleaned, cables and caps kept tight and in good shape). i forget the exact price but 5 -6 hundred for a set of 48 volts sounds right.
