Yes electric mowers are way superior to gas. The engine is more reliable, quieter, and you don't have the hassle of filling up gas cans. Also no odor when filling or operating with an electric. There is less noise for your neighbors to deal with. Last and most important, you are not exhausting harmful gases into the atmosphere. There are also other advantages.

Just curious, which electric mower do you own? Also, which electric car and which electric golf cart do you own? Also, which solar panels are on your roof? Asking for a friend.

I have a Kobalt push lawnmower. Do not own a golf car, but if i did it would be an electric model.

So you own Electric fully electric car? O, electric mowers don’t have engine’s, they have motors.

There are two perimeter options.

Many of the models use a wire on the ground system making a loop around your yard, similar to the Invisible Fence for dogs. The mower will stay inside the loop.

The other is a gps based system where you train the mower where to go and not to go, like a roomba in the house.

I just started researching the robot mowers in depth but need to answer a few more questions before we pull the trigger on buying one.

So far I’ve identified a model from Segway that checks the boxes. Only costs about $1500.

Hi: I have an E-go battery powered mower and weed-whacker (for sale.) Each has its own charger and battery. Never had any problems with running out of power, and often did my 2500 sq ft lawns twice on one charge it’s pretty quiet, self-propelled and easier to handle than a gas unit because it’s lighter.

I have had my Greenworks duel blade mower going on my 4 seasons and it has been awesome. It is one of the highest rated mower in Consumer Reports.

A couple months ago I spotted a robot lawn mower from about a quarter mile away and thought it was an off-leash dog wandering on someone’s lawn. I was on high alert until I realized what it was.

My lawn is tiny. I decided to buy an old-fashioned push mower like I used to use. About $100. However, they don’t work well with the springy twisted grass I have. It sometimes catches the reel and stops it from turning. Last time I mowed it injured my wrists, and they were sore for several days.

Former Home Depot employee here. Don't get anything less than a 40 volt, lesser voltages don't hold their charge as well.

I have a EGO for about a year now. Super happy with results. They have a few years of battery warranty when residential use.

My suggestion is to create a “budget” based on when the warranty will run out in order to replace the battery, if needed. Probably it will last beyond that.

I have an EGO 2035SP. I am generally pretty happy with it. It came with a second battery, which is good because it chews through the battery pretty fast. The self propelling is pretty nice and it will also bag the clippings if you want. The handles fold down and it stands on the front wheels so it doesn’t take up much space when stored - I really like that. I haven’t had it long enough to comment on how long the batteries will last. It cuts about the same as a gas mower but is a bit quieter. A push gas mower is nearly indestructible if you change the oil regularly. Time will tell about the durability of the EGO.

That was a good idea. I had friends up north that would use a push mower for a workout experience. The equivalence of fast walking and doing push-ups. There may be a type of Florida grass that a push mower would work with? But, I commend the effort to think "outside the box".
