We have a small group of neighbors who socialize with a party twice a year. We really need a Villager entertainer who just loves to perform for the love of doing it. We have no budget but could perhaps"pass the hat"... and of course join us for dinner.

I don't know about finding somebody who wants to do it for free but if I was you I would go over to open mic night at the Corkscrew in Spanish Springs on Thursdays last I knew. There are some pretty good entertainers there who were in groups in their previous lives. You might be able to get one of them to agree to it. Also, most of the real entertainers they have that perform there on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday work solely for tips. Entertainment is 6 to 9 PM.

If you could "pass the hat", try doing it ahead of time so that you have something to offer an entertainer. Expecting someone to work for free is not really fair to them.
