After going down steadily for the week starting June 1, unfortunately percent positive has been going up since then in Florida. I'm referring to percent positive from the following link, not number of positives, which as we know is not a useful metric.

Poor comparison. The farmer's market isn't nearly as packed as the squares during "prime" entertainment. Unless you are referring to something like Marion Market the local Farmers market isn't any worse than Walmart. I'm sure you've seen the squares during Rocky and the Elders or Scooter or lots others popular bands. People are seated shoulder to shoulder next to each other and the dance floor is totally packed. People sweat, and rub against each other and touch and cough and sneeze. It's even bad without a pandemic on hot humid nights. There are some entertainers who get very low attendance but the top ones pack the place. No comparison to the Farmer's Market.

Disney is limiting to 25% crowds and require masks and temperature taking when they open in mid-July(I have a pass and still wouldn't go there). As for the beaches they still aren't nearly as close as would be in the squares if it is controlled. That's what created a lot of the problem in FL during spring break. At least now it is (barely) being controlled.

We were in Sumter landing last Friday and could not believe how crowded several outdoor bars were with people standing shoulder to shoulder.

First time we have been there since this whole thing started and probably not back for quite some time.

Its a shame as we really miss that place and the restaurants.

It’s amazing the number of Covidiots that hang out in bars shoulder to shoulder not wearing masks. Especially at City Fire. We stay far away from those places but drove by in the golf cart the other evening while picking up some take out from VKI in LSL. I know the alcohol in hand sanitizer kills the virus, but I don’t think drinking lots of it in close proximity to others works?

Rocky and the Rollers will be performing at Brownwood on August 14th.

On Rocky’s website, it says they have four bookings in Villages squares in July. It shows cancellations for March through June so it doesn’t appear to be outdated information.

They too can be cancelled as quickly as March through June was.

If I were a betting man I wouldn't want to bet on that happening. They will keep scheduling entertainment and keep cancelling it as they have been doing.

EdFNJ, I notice your note about sneezing. I'm taking classes at the reopened Enrichment Academy. I never realized how many people have a "nervous cough." I'm not overly concerned about the virus, but this one woman in front of me yesterday was coughing lightly every couple of minutes throughout the class and not always covering her mouth, much less wearing a mask. It was not a smoker's cough. Pretty sure it was a classic "nervous cough." If not, and she was sick, she shouldn't be in class!

I don't like to use the saying "you can't fix stupid," but I might make an exception here. But she can fix it!

LOL! :D That part was kinda meant as "humor" because some studies early on during this mess showed under perfect conditions ia sneeze could go that far. :) That being said, I still get nervous when people walk by me hacking away without covering their mouth. I've never been a germaphobe until recently.

So many covidiots that we only buy take out that we can reheat.

Maybe they are serving bleach and Clorox shots at City Fire to keep everyone virus free. :boom:

The problem with this scenario is that she could be pre-symptomatic or asymptomatic with a "nervous" cough that she has had for all her adult life. Her "nervous" cough could spread lots of virus to people around her if she is not wearing a mask. Anyone with a "nervous" cough should be diligent and wear a mask.

When this pandemic first started here in America and we Americans were recommended NOT to wear masks, I was standing in line at Target to check out. The elderly woman at the register was coughing up a storm and not containing the cough. She was not wearing a mask, nor was I. I got off that line so fast your head would spin. She looked at me and said, "it is just allergies". OK, her cough may have been caused by allergies but how was she know if she was asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic and could have passed on the virus to lots of people? She didn't. She also didn't "get it'. Clueless!
