Lately there have been sales with disgruntled patrons who plan to attend a sale based on advertised items complete with photos. These customers often drive here from far outside The Villages, stand in line, sometimes for long periods, often in hot or cold or rainy weather. only to find out once inside. that the items they had come to purchase were sold prior to the sale.
This is NOT ABOUT FURNITURE that is often stated as pre-sold upon appointments, but smaller items traditionally not sold until the sale opens. Profit is the stimulus, NOT TRUTH in advertising.
Excuses such as: "someone offered me more than the asking price"; or "they took it all yesterday" are given. The items weren't REMOVED from the listings or marked sold, just weren't there for the sale.
If you experience such actions, speak up. Otherwise customer satisfaction will never be considered, and none of us will ever know if items we would like will even be in the sale.
