While I did know that they came from "poor" and worked to get here, the video put some meat on the bones. There were statistics presented but outside of context, again what I expected. As I tell my friends, this place isn't for everyone, and some will always find stuff to complain about, some will always begrudge the success of the Morse family and someone will never be satisfied. For those of us that have the kool aid glass half full, this is a great place to live and it's great to wake up every morning and only have to worry about me....and that's the opportunity the Schwartz/Morse family gave to each us.

Well said!!!...:BigApplause:

I agree. The volunteers are a huge part of the success of the Villages.

I think this is what Mr. Morse has in mind.

You would think we would all want to do want ever we can to make ANY COMMUNITY we live in better. There are always "the givers" and ""the takers".
Thankfully TV is filled with givers.

For those who don't have Comcast (or a friend with Comcast).... I think the TV service in the billiards rooms at the rec centers is Comcast. On a quiet Sat afternoon, you can probably go to a local rec center and watch the program if the billiards room is not booked.

As someone posted earlier, it is on Channel 2 at 12, 3, 6, and 9 pm Saturday.

There is an App on iTunes and Google Play for The Villages Daily Sun. One of the features is the ability to watch each days' 20 minute news program that airs on Comcast. What a great way for non Comcast people to get the hometown news. They mentioned the other day that the talk will be available for viewing on the app. For example they aired the whole Christmas golf cart parade in December as a special extra! I imagine it would be available Saturday or Sunday but keep checking!

If you don't already know there is also a another good app - a Villages Magazine app that gives you access to a library of that big slick color magazine that comes once a month in the paper.

Aw come on Mickey, just a little praise for the fine developers?

This was our first meeting. We kinda hoped to have more answers about future construction plans or when does build out end. Without giving away any secrets, but no such luck. Guess we will have to wait and see if the build out population stops about the projected 110K.

I think as long as any good business person at the helm inhales and exhales they won't really share their plans for the future. For one thing, the market changes, opportunities arise or shift, and if you are going to continue to be as successful as the Morses are, you have to be light on your feet and ready to move in the right direction. So far, so good.

Google Earth hasn’t updated their view of the Villages since Dec. of 2013. I believe that the Developer has forbid Google from taking newer pictures to hide what is going on and to prevent us from looking in to the future.

Now, this is my belief and I am sticking to it. :)

You might find it difficult to get too involved with the community, when you consider 2000+ clubs and organizations, pickleball, tennis, golf swiming, entertainment and all the neighborhood stuff, not sure you will be able to find the time........:gc:

When and who promoted the story that the Schwartz family was poor?? Harold was a successful businessman who owned several radio stations. Some family also owned a successful restaurant. Poor to me is wondering where we will find money for food tomorrow.

This sounds like humble beginnings. THE VILLAGES – HAROLD SCHWARTZ & SON, H GARY MORSE | ByDuncan.com

Pretty good...........27 posts before the first "negative Developer" post.
Most restaurant posts don't do that well! Some just cannot pass up the chance to slam the Developer, however subtle.
