I think the signs add to the general ambiance of the place, given what the developers wanted to create/recreate with LSL.

I think Cheesy is a more appropriate word than tacky. I find them rather amusing, but they are a bit cheesy IMHO.

I think the only thing missing, Bill, is a sign saying, "Popcorn Machine Ahead".

I heard that Gracie discovered a popcorn machine in Citizen's First Bank....just a rumor, though.

What exactly does cheesy mean? I think they add to the ambience. What is wrong with that? Is Disney World cheesy, too?

No.

I love whimsy and wit and everyone knows it isn't real. It is a theme and a sweet one, I think.

I also like Santa Claus.

No, I like a bit of silly now and then.

Well, Bill USED to be addicted to popcorn. But I think he may have gone to P.A.A......Popcorn Addiction Anonymous... for serious treatment because I'm not hearing too much about popcorn from him. He may be too busy going to PAA meetings....not sure.

I went into Citizen's First bank the week before last to look around. There was a popcorn machine and several little bags on the side. Customers were helping themselves. It was totally charming.

I guess that means anything is possible.

The Villages Government doesn't comply with their own advertisement. I, unfortunately, am going through a divorce and have been living in the marital residence in The Villages for three years. The property is in my wife's name only and The Villages government will not give me an I.D. even though the amenities fees are being paid because my "wife" will not sign for it. The Villages advertises "residents" not "owner" as being able to enjoy all of the benefits of being a resident in The Villages.

I would guess that this has more to do with the fact your "wife", as owner, won't sign to allow you to get the card. I am renting for a year in TV and the couple I am renting from are getting me the resident card. To do so though they give up their ability to get one themselves. So residents can get cards it's just that the owner has to inform TV who the resident is to get the card.
Suzanne

PS As one going through a divorce also, I understand sticky issues.
