Well, they're usually gone by June, too, but just saw a mini-swarm yesterday.

They were not too bad in May this year and they certainly wont bother your enjoyment of MLB Games in Tampa in September, because it is a domed stadium. Driving there may be messy, but who knows for sure. Word went out awhile back that The State introduced some sterile Love Bugs into the environment and that may be the explanation as to why they were less evident.
