Play tennis, pickleball or any other court sport with a mask? Just wearing one makes breathing more difficult. Imagine when you're playing and the mask becomes saturated with moisture from your breath and sweat. Then you take it off between games (keeping six feet, of course). Better have others, you wouldn't want to put the contaminated one back on again.

They won't even if it is mandated because they have rights.

Love it!

How can you wear a mask playing Pickleball? People with breathing problems will not be able to breath right. The physical exertion might not allow it.

I’m astonished at the huge number of people who still think the masks are to protect themselves. NO! They are to prevent you from spraying your germs all over the place when you talk or suddenly cough or sneeze.

I quit playing golf when I was at Escambia and I had to weave through a closely packed crowd of about a dozen people. When I asked if they had not heard of social distancing, they made fun of me for wearing a mask to protect THEM from me.

And, yes, I wear my bandana when riding in my cart.

Unless their cohabitants.

DeanFL 05-01-2020 07:42 AM

...hmmm, perhaps I WILL wear a mask when playing golf.

It may muffle my swearing.

You only have to have them when on recreation center property not private property so read it all before you post something stupid

Bandanas are not as bad as the N95 masks and those that can’t do even that will just have to stay away. BTW, I’m asthmatic and in the high-risk group so I wouldn’t play anyway if masks weren’t required.

The spelling and grammar on this site leaves many wondering where some people went to school

The rec news covers the recreation centers and sports and activities conducted there, not golf.

There is a reason that the coronavirus has not been contact traced to golfing. That reason is very simple. The amount of testing that's been done down here is ridiculously low. Therefore if you do not test you don't know who has it. In addition the state of Florida does not have the infrastructure to do what is necessary and that would be when a positive case has been determined, they should do contact tracing. Contact tracing is not done I repeat is not done. So I would strongly suggest that the golfers stop with this holier than thou attitude and be aware that you can get it playing golf. I hope you don't get it but you do increase the possibility of getting it by not wearing a mask. In addition a mask prevents you, if you are asymptomatic, from giving it to someone else.

There is no directive that wearing a mask is mandatory. The directive is that if you are in an environment where you cannot adhere to the social distancing guidelines, the wearing of a mask is encouraged. That is a federal health directive.

So in other words, we should all stay at home until a validated vaccine is produced and everyone in the state of Florida, everyone in the Us and for that matter everyone in the world receives the vaccine.
