When you find out who she is behind the wheel we need to have an intervention.

I hope explains stop signs to everyone in the club as well.

BTW, are your cameras going to capture your fellow cyclists blowing through stop and yield signs, often as a pack? The very nature of cycling on the roads in TV is somewhat unsafe (as is driving any vehicle).

I have no problem with cyclists and no problem sharing the road, but the key to sharing anything is for all parties to follow the rules. Now if you are a cyclist, don't get your undies in a bunch over this statement, but it seems cyclists, at least those that frequently post on TOTV, are very adept a citing laws that apply to drivers of other vehicles with regard to cyclists, but pick and choose which laws they will follow on the road

Well said :ho:

Consider hiring inspector Gadget to run down the villain.

A video showing a speeding vehicle would be useless. There are criteria that need to met in calibrations that can not be verified. However, a video of clear reckless driving along with the person in court swearing that they filmed the video and witnessed the reckless driving could be used to obtain a warrant. The driver would also need to be identified in the video or by the person videoing. A vehicle can not be charged.

The officer in your club has no legal precedent or merit to visit anyone’s residence based on your video. In fact he can be disciplined for using department resources in an inappropriate manner. To further the actions if enough people complain he can be reprimanded for harassment. There are as many aggressive cyclists here as drivers. Everyone feels they own the road. The cycle club acts as though everyone on the road should give way to their membership, when in fact some in their ranks are much more aggressive that the drivers.

If this was Federal, he would be fired. If we use systems to determine any information on a person outside of a authorized investigation its misuse. Combine that with visiting the house and just getting fired is getting of easy.

[Really? Our Sheriff Dept has the manpower to “stakeout” homes and then follow the car until they catch it speeding. I did not know that. =airstreamingypsy;1974002]There's a very noisy black Dodge, with a very aggressive driver speeding around, weaving trhough traffic on the streets of The Villages. Three evenings ago, around 7pm it came fast up behind me on Morse Road, flew around me, and turned right in front of me on to Odell. I realized this was the same car that got over 100 comments in a thread on Nextdoor. This guy is street racing with himself, it's only a matter of time until he's in a terrible wreck and one of us will be hurt or killed. I tried to get his plate number but he was going too fast. I don't even know if I gave the Sumter sheriff the plate number if they could do anything since they didn't catch him in the act. Be careful out there.[/QUOTE]

This might help with those hoping to play at being a law enforcement officer.

You need a police officer with the proper equipment and the right credentials to put a stop to this. But notifying the Sheriff's Department about where and when this driver usually is could help.

Note the time. Go to the gate and record the plate number, call the police they will go issue a warning.
With all the varied speeds people will drive at here, golf carts included. I take it easy and give plenty of space, and the occasional too toot if there seems to be a turning issue with other cars and carts
