Default Final Update - I'm home

Thank you, Kathie, for picking me up and almost taking me back to the hospital with that missed turn and slam on brakes! It did let me know how good I was feeling! roflao

In all seriousness, I am home, feeling pretty good and will be up and swinging (not a golf club but I'll figure out something). Again, thank you all for all of your kind words and support. It really did mean a lot, especially being so new to The Villages. Being ill stinks, being ill when you really know no one sucks. You guys helped make it better.

Um, Kathie .... I CAN'T HAVE another gall bladder attack. My first was my last. Maybe if I hadn't waited so long, I would have had the privilege of having another attack or two, but they just took it out immediately. I guess a white blood count of 25,000 gets that reaction?

And, yes, I'm so glad, grateful, thankful and happy you're my friend, buddy, pal.

Glad you're home, and everything went well How was your hospital stay? I'll be having some surgery in Feb. Any advise you would like to offer. Ha.

Don't do it where you might be there over the weekend! So, make sure you are scheduled for surgery early in the week if you think it should be a short stay.

The nurses were awesome, but by Saturday your docs are off and gone and you get people who know nothing about your case or you and then it gets kinda iffy. The support staff is really nice and both they and nurses will do almost anything they can to keep you comfie and they know their stuff!

The rooms are actually very nice. Better than some hotels I've been in.

The food is typical hospital not-so-good stuff but you can call down to the kitchen for other food like sandwiches or bagels or juices, sodas, etc. if you're not on a special diet.

Oh, plan to go shopping in the gift shop! Wonderful stuff at good prices. I picked up three Christmas presents on my way out the door. Heck, stop at the gift shop even if you're not going to the hospital.

On aside, the hospital has a Toys for Tots bucket in the front lobby. Guess who plans to go back to drop off a gift or two.

Who gets sick on Monday at 8:00am, for me it's always 2 in the morning on the weekend or a holiday.

Ah, but Avista's is being SCHEDULED.

I'm like you -- mine started Wednesday at 2:00 am. I was just too stubborn to in until Thursday at 11:00 am. Give TVRMC some major credit ... arrived at ER at 11 am, saw nurse at 11:20, was admitted by 12:20, had CT, blood work and results and was under the knife before 5:00 pm. I was impressed -- especially since I thought I was being admitted for observation. No way -- was wheeled straight to surgery. They did all the testing there.
