It had been two years. The originals lasted less than a year. We’re going to be doing some traveling so I didn’t want to take the chance of any of them croaking while we were gone.

We must be getting old. We're complaining about having to re-set our clocks. Doesn't seem all that long ago that we had to WIND them every day.

The clock in the golf cart is the worst.
I now take out the little battery behind the speedometer and reinstall it at noon.
Easy.

Geeeez. I must be really old.

About 8 of our “things” auto
Time correct. Laptops, cars, phones and such. Then about 12 or so have to be manually set, oven , micro, 4 clocks, landline phone ( yes, old…), timers, other crap.

Manually, going “back” is a PITA.

Oh goody, six or so months and we go forward. Hope I’m still around to complain about that…

Not quite an hour, but close. We have days around June 21 when it’s still a little bit light at 9:15. I’m always outside working around our property until dark which bugs my wife. We don’t eat dinner together that time of year because I’m typically not eating until around 9:45 PM.

Still need to wind our Grandfather Clock once per month. The clock was built in 1886 and runs perfectly ever since Joe the clock guy in the Villages fixed her up for us. I finally graduated to a self winding Seiko dive watch.

Our sprinkler system is broken so we have it shut off. One more thing that doesn't need to know the time.

No, it doesn't. Florida is closer to the equator and has more daylight hours all year round compared to the northernmost states of the USA.

Florida is closer to the equator and therefore states farther north have MORE hours of daylight during the summer months. There are places in Alaska where the sun does not set during the longest days - Florida can't match that.

Not true. At the equator every day of the year is about 12 hours of light. The further away from the equator you get, the days get progressively longer/shorter as you approach summer/winter respectively. The days are longer in New England than Florida in the spring/summer and shorter in the fall/winter. The earth’s axil tilt of about 23.5 degrees causes this seasonal change.
