$24.95 - That's for 5 Mbps speed, same as DSL. Can't do any streaming with that. Very slow.

More, higher fees are coming with Comcast. Their aim is to get your bill to $200/month (paid in advance of course).

Beware of Dish Network as well. Once they have you settled, if you have a problem with your service that involves a house call, look out. They have a limited number of actual Dish service trucks/employees; all others are sub-contractors who may or may not show up on the day promised....or two or three days later. Sorry, sad service. Looking forward to the day we can get rid of these silly companies and stream everything. It's coming.

We have been (nearly) Comcast-free for a week. ...it's Liberating.
We don't watch that much television, and felt the monthly bill was too much for what we received; but we want(need) internet. When calling Comcast we were quoted $60-something for internet only. When we went to the Comcast office (27/441) to turn-in the 'box we were told that internet only was $29.95/mo for highspeed ($24.95/mo for less than highspeed).
We dropped everything except Internet. Our impression is that the price gets better if you (1) go to the office in person, (2) and if you are prepared to drop Comcast entirely.
We love it. Much cheaper, and we're paying for what we USE. We can watch almost everything that we want using Apple TV and Amazon Prime.

Cut the cord! Consider dumping Cable TV altogether.

Plenty of streaming services like netflix (requires an internet connection). Over the Air transmission of HDTV is free with an antenna.

You could always just give it a try.

Not like the cable or satelite companies won't come running if you change you mind later to go back to the traditional Pay TV providers.

The entire Cable Industry needs to be regulated IMHO.

I don't say that easily---as I don't care for big government either. However, utilities need to be regulated and I consider Cable is in that category because it has now gotten to the point where it has become a modern necessity.

Reasonable people will disagree but I believe we need regulation of this industry.

I felt the same way. I dropped Comcast and went with CenturyLink, so far so good.
