Default Finally packing our "stuff" for TV!!

Had to take a break here because we are packing so that everything can go into storage for 2 months or so before we move down.

Just packed the georgous crystal and china that I haven't used in so long. As I was lovingly packing each and every piece, I wondered if anyone has used their special things since being in TV.

Can't part with it because I felt like a new bride with it again!!!

Before you pack it make sure you know where you are going to put it in your new home.

Why pack it if you haven't used it in so long. Why not sell it or just pass it on?

MissyPie,
I think we are relatively close to each other in Charlotte NC and will be near neighbors again in The Villages... From the original spreadsheet I realized you and your husband are coming from Charlotte. Jim and I are as well. We close in Ghilchrist on May 6th. When will you be moving?

I know how you feel about special things but there is something to be said about getting rid of something you haven't touched in years. Decluttering is a very freeing experience. Packing when having to decide whether to keep something is very difficult.

Some people bring stuff they wind up giving away or selling in TV.

Your decision.

Downsizing for us meant going through everything and really deciding what to pass on to our daughter and what we really didn't need and which treasures really were treasures to keep. I found myself passing almost all of the treasures on to our daughter and her family. I found there were very few real treasures that I wanted to bring to Florida but more than I originally thought. All in all it was a tough process, but I'm so glad we made the decision and carried through. It just isn't in me to pay storage on "stuff."

Thank you for the insight. This is harder than I ever thought.
