finding Copied IDs at rec center facilites and requiring 2nd Photo ID !
A friend just told me they were checking ID at some of the facilities ( Tennis ) and found a few people with copied ID joining in round robin. This I guess made them do some further checking and they asked for additional photo ID to verify the copied ID. It turns out that they wouldn't provide it and had to leave. Bottom line is it looks like some village residents are providing copies of their ID to non-village residents so they can use our facilities. I for one wish more of the rec centers would check more then they do but am glad at least some of the centers are catching on to this and stopping people without valid ID from using the facilities.
I wish they would extend this checking to the Squares and at least limit the use of chairs to people with IDs since I know for a fact people from nearby communities come to the Squares very early for major events like St Pats day and tie up a large group of chairs to use. |

Do you know the reason why you have to show your ID at the starter shacks of the golf courses? The reason is that there have been numerous cases where people check in at the pro shop and pay villages rates, then their non-villages friend goes to the starter shack and plays golf. So, they have had to institute a double check system.
Can you believe it? |

Eye Scans I think are more effective and less evasive. Perhaps they could upgrade the bar scanners they now use at the rec centers for this.

Geez, I'll believe anything. People don't turn into saints even when they move to Paradise! Too bad this kind of thing is happening, but that's the way it is....

If a resident is caught assisting in one of these scams, there should be a substantial fine for the first offense, say double the monthly amenity fee. For any subsequent viollations, a family member of choice should be executed.

Re: finding Copied IDs at rec center facilites and requiring 2nd Photo ID !
There should be a new system for TV's ID's. I'm sure there are many living in the vicinity who have access and who shouldn't (i.e., former residents who still use their pass, forged copies of passes). Outsiders having access just isn't fair to the residents who are footing the bills for everything.
There are things that could be done to ensure 'legal' (only) access to the facilities. I expect the best system(s) would require additional costs, but if the residents want to exclude outsiders, I would hope they'd support one-time costs. I am thinking of a system that was used at my work site. There were electronic card readers that had to be swiped at all entrances and exits, and in the library and/or to use a photocopier, etc. You couldn't get in or out without swiping your card. Card readers could be put in all areas that are for the exclusive use of residents...require that all parties playing golf swipe their card; require that to have access to the stick/pucks to play shuffleboard, a card must be swiped to get into the equipment hut...require everyone to swipe their card to enter each rec center and/or pool, etc. Such a system will cost money. The card readers at all facilities will be needed, the computer program will need to be written, there will be staff costs to operate/maintain the system. So, each resident would need to pay something to keep this system operational. Just to throw out a number, perhaps it would be ~$10 for each resident to obtain an electronic access card. It should likely also require a $10 charge to replace a lost card. The system used where I worked, each electronic card had its own "serial" number. Records are kept, noting the card number and the name to whom each card is assigned. The card also had our photo on it. If someone stopped working in our facilities, their electronic card got voided...disallowing access to the facilities. So, TV would need to track whenever residents moved out of TV, so their cards could be voided. How to do that? Just my own thoughts, track the names/address changes that get filed for mail forwarding, track phone cancellations, home sales, and/or also use self-reporting by the resident who relocates. I'm sure there are numerous ways to track the relocations, it just takes some work by those who know the ins/outs of TV to create the system(s) to use. These electronic cards can also be given to visitors, and with tracking the "serial" number assigned to any given visitor, the electronic access feature can be turned off at any assigned time...say 5 days for those visiting for 5 days, or for those who have permanent access as a nearby relative to a resident, I would direct that they be disabled every September 1st .... and require all visitors of this category to be renewed each September 1, to insure that his/her category of visitor still meets qualifications for access). Of course, there are much cheaper systems that could be used to at least tighten the access to TV's facilities. Any other kind of system wouldn't be foolproof, but could lessen access of outsiders. Just my thoughts. I'm not yet a resident, so I won't pursue. If anyone wants to pursue it with TV management, I'm willing to share my thoughts on some cheap systems to use to at least limit access to the facilities.

Re: finding Copied IDs at rec center facilites and requiring 2nd Photo ID !
Shame on Villagers who give copies of their ID to friends!!!! We pay for our amenities so I guess they think they should be able to share all the clubs and amenities with whomever he wants. I think they should have certain rights suspended for specific periods of time for doing this.
I was told that no one is authorized to copy an ID and no employee is authorized to accept a copied ID. How small of some people to do this. It makes me believe that people who live up the road in other retirement communities are the ones using these copied IDs. They come to the town squares regularly and enjoy our free entertainment and now they are stealing our amenities. Simply disgraceful!! What happened to honesty and this is a generation of people I thought were trustworthy!!!!

Actually the Public Squares are not public property !!!!! That area still belongs to the delveloper ...........and here is another kicker.....the area that the entry gates to villages sits on is owned by (you guessed it ) the delveloper......
