Good luck getting "any" person who was "in contact" with the patient to get tested.

1. There aren't enough tests to do that.
2. Testing is reserved for people who have symptoms, plus the super wealthy, the "well-connected," and celebrities apparently.
3. If that person went to the town square one night two weeks ago and was there for an hour, he probably exposed many hundreds of people to the virus, each of whom have further exposed people to it by way of contact at stores, supermarkets, their own family, friends and neighbors, etc. One person can have contact with thousands of people in a week's time and this person wasn't diagnosed until after he showed symptoms. That means he was probably infected - and contagious - for at LEAST a week before that.

That's CASES not TESTED and that is now increased as well and yes, there are statistics: FL DEPT OF HEALTH STATISTICS PER COUNTY

Actually it's 51 tests in Sumter so it might be a fairly logical number to come up with 33 here.

people, be calm and blame no one right now. do what is necessary to stop the spread in your own place. wash your hands stay a distance and keep as clean as possible. blaming anyone is ignorance stopping the spread is as much as you can do, so do your part.

One thing I have noticed is that people are more courteous and understanding especially in cars and golf carts. A good sign . stay the course.
