Default fishing today?

I have a great pair of responsible guys visiting. Ages 18 and 19. They want to go fishing, where can they go? Also, how is the fish fry lunch at the lighthouse?

I hear the fish fry at Lighthouse is great. Most of my friends and family have it. I personally never had it, not crazy about deep fried fish but it looks scrumptious.... Don't know where you can go fishing, maybe one of the guys can tell you. F16 is a good one to ask. He's a big fisherman with a lot of tall tales, if you get my drift!~!!!!

Im thinking any of the larger retention ponds have fish in them , we have a reasonably large one on the historic side of TV, hopefully there is still fish in there after the big "dry up". Worth a try.

Just dont end up in Kathies back yard pond! LOL

There is a fresh water fishing club. I'd check with them.

Hey Kathie,

I bet you have a lot of Crappers with those Schnauzers around.

We love the Lighthouse but were very disappointed in the Fish Fry Special, maybe we just hit it on a bad day.

If you don't mind a little drive--Cedar Key is a great place to fish. They have a public fishing pier there. Check the tides--look at Cedar Key on internet-- as you really need to fish on incoming/high tide. Have been there numerous times--catch catfish, mullet, skate, trout, small shark. We usually use squid for bait which we get at the Walmart in the sporting goods department. Fried fish at Lighthouse good- but we have found the fried fish sandwich at Katy Belle's is also very good and only $5.00 at lunch time. Gator Joe's on Lake Weir has a fish fry on Thursdays--and I think Friday as well. All you can eat 9.99--fries and slaw.

that little pond at the entrance to Glenview is loaded with catfish 8 to 10" long. Chicken livers or weiners for bait. Or boloney or nearly any meat.

I have seen people fishing in the pond by Bonita but have no clue if it is even worth trying to fish there. Venetian Gardens in Leesburg has plenty of places to fish if you aren't looking for anything fancy.
