Not my question. I love seeing flagpoles year round. I just didn’t know why people were edging their lawns as they do for Memorial Day, etc.

God will get us through this if we ask for his forgiveness and his help. This is only my opinion for I am a sinner also because I was born into this world. Please think about it.
If you think God needs you to put a cross on your lawn in order for him to know you're there, then I'll go ahead and suggest that you might want to look for an actual omnificient god instead.

Dunno about anyone else, your mileage may vary. But my God already knows what we need. That's what makes her God.

We each have our own version of faith and perhaps this is a time to let each other take comfort in it. Just a thought.

It doesn't have to be either the flag or help others, does it? Give generously AND show the flag in solidarity!

Of course I’m watching the news. Obviously I missed that particular suggestion. What day was it that he suggested we decorate our lawns?

Besides which, it is not about the president's suggestion. It is about National Vietnam Veteran Day. Every yard I've seen displaying them in my neighborhood has a Vietnam veteran living in it.

It's sad that so few people know about this day, considering how much the veterans were shunned and ignored when they came home. My husband was spit on in the Seattle airport when he came home. It was started by proclamation by President Obama in 2012 and was further established as a day of national observance by The Vietnam Veterans Recognition Act of 2017.

I agree with you but suspect folks are a bit more engrossed in COVID-19. Hopefully, next year will be better.

These Patriots are most likely doing both!!! Love of country, love of the less fortunate, and love of thy neighbor! All of these can be multitasked!!!!

As is usual, many did not read my original post but rather scanned. Nowhere did I say I did not love our country or our colors. I love seeing Old Glory flying high on a flag pole day and night when lit. I asked why people were lining their lawns with cheap mini flags, probably made in China, that they purchased at the dollar store. Was that so difficult?

To those of you who gave me a decent answer, I thank you very much.
