Wow didn't know about humidity and effect on TV on Lanai. I guess that
Explains what happened to my set. Blew out two weeks ago waiting on Best Buy to come and fix. Lucky I bought the service contract. |
There are televisions and electronics made specifically for outdoors, according to my husband.

We have had an indoor flat screen on our lanai for years with no problems. It is tucked far enough in under the roof to keep it dry in a rain storm and we keep a large towel over it when not in use to keep the pollen out of the insides. We also keep the remote in a plastic zip-lock baggie as it is near the screen wall gets wet when it rains. Not worried about security, although we do bring the tv in the house if we plan on an extended vacation of a couple weeks or more.
