Question Forwarding Mail - Need Tips

My wife and I are renting two separate villas in TV, one in February and a different one in March. Will be going to my local Post Office tomorrow to fill out paperwork for getting my mail forwarded.

My question is this: Do I use the dates 2/1 - 2/28 for the first location and 3/1 to 3/31 for the second location?

Did not know what the date represented, and certainly did not want any of my mail delivered to my first location after Feb. 28 or my second location after Mar. 31.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated !! Thanks.

Good luck with forwarding your mail. The mail system here stinks. I have had renters the latest that left Dec. 1 and their mail is still showing up at the rental. They had their mail forwarding stopped on Nov 28 th. I had the same issue when I was going back and forth up north, never could get the mail straight.

Rent a USPS mailbox (at the post office) here for the time you will be here. It's very cheap. DO NOT rent a private mailbox like UPS STORE or PACK AND SHIP because you cannot reforward mail from there when you leave as you PO BOX address isn't an "official" address.

Haveyour mail forwarded to "General Delivery" at the post office where you're staying. You can pick it up with proper ID

I agree, rent a usps box in TV and forward your mail to it. But, it takes about 2 weeks for the mail to start coming to the box. And, it takes another 2 weeks for your mail to start coming back to your old address. The post office on Teague Trail is not as crowded as others.

There are mail forwarding services you can contact. You have your mail forwarded to them and then you tell them when and where to send the mail to. RVers use that kind of system all the time.

Renting a box at the local post office best idea to receive your mail. We found it’s faster, accurate and more convenient to do your paperwork on-line than through the local post office. Instructions are fairly easy even if you are not very computer savvy. USPS.com
