Default Fountains

We are re-landscaping the front of our gardenia and adding more pavers. The front will be pavers all the way to the sidewalk and from the garage wall to the guest bedroom wall. It will be kinda like a courtyard.
We thought a nice fountain would be great there in front of the breakfast nook window, but aren't sure about restrictions.
It wouldn't be under the eaves of the roof.
We have driven around in our neighborhood (Virginia Trace) and have noticed several neighbors with front fountains.

Does anyone know if we have to get fountain permission???
I know birdbaths are out, but,,, we would have flowing water...

Thanks in advance...

MJ,

You hit the key....as long as the fountain has a pump and flowing water it is ok. I have seen very plain and simple fountains and some that were downright gaudy in shape and size (of course, that is in the eye of the beholder).

It wouldn't hurt to call and touch base with the architectural folks. It sounds like your paver project should go thru the review process too. You could throw the fountain plan in with that.

Sounds like a nice redesign... we created a paver, knee-wall courtyard at the entrance to our Lantana...makes another nice place to sit and read and watch the world go by.

Fountains and other water features have to be approved by Architectural Review Board following the usual procedures with drawings, etc.

Thanks 07...
Was hoping the running water would the the go ticket...

The paver guy says we don't need permission for the pavers, especially since it's just a small addition to the pavers we already have on our driveway and sidewalk. He'll install the pavers tomorrow.
And the landscapers have already gotten their permission for what they are doing...

Yesterday all the plants were removed from that area,
and WOW, what a change!
The courtyard affect will drastically simplify the front of our house from what it is was, but we don't want it to look barren...
We want something nice to look at from inside and also for curb appeal.
So the fountain was a last minute thought.
We will also add a bench and a couple of large potted plants.

Sounds absolutely beautiful. Do you mind if I steal your idea when we return in the fall. Please send pictures!

My new landscaper just put in a small pond in the front of my house with a little fountain in the center. It is lined with river rock so its so cute.

F16 is gonna fish in it (I'm putting gold fish in for him) and I'll give the schnauzers their baths in there too...
You do know I am only kidding about the fish and the dog bath of course.

"Crappies?" "Crappies?" is that what you want? Oh that's easy, I'll just let the schnauzers poop in the pond.... LOL.

Laughing here at the crappies joke etc. lol . So funny lol!
Kathie...your pond must be so nice!! I love river rock! I am so happy to hear that they are allowed. My sister has a small one with Koi in it. She has had them for ten years and has a name for every one of them lol. She said that she can actually pick them up and hold them, if they have to clean it etc.. And that in the evening they do a dance on the top of the water! .

KathieI Hi, We had a pond in our other home Back Balto. Lots Koi,frogs, turtles, and had to keep an eye out for the blue heron finding dinner in our pond all the time. Then the ducks found it,made nest then their were baby ducks. But it was so nice to watch everything, with a a water fall. Would like to see it someday. Be Happy!! Mary

Neat bumper sticker. Went like this: "It's God's job to judge terrorists. Our job is to arrange the meeting!"
