Default Freeform Patios

Just wondering if someone could answer why The Villages are pouring freeform style patios on many of their new homes. If you choose to add a screen room, you would need to replace the new patio with a straight edge one to accommodate. Their new homes with optional bird cages have straight edge patios. patio-jpg

I Don't think you would be allowed to add a screen room to the side of a Patio Villa unless you are on a corner lot. The PV you show has the lanai in front and patio on the side as do all of the interior units.

I can't answer your question. But I can tell you that I have seen several villas with birdcages built after simply adding some additional concrete to form a straight edge.

I did see corner lots with the same patio.

They already have a screened in porch. Why would anyone want to add a birdcage to a patio? I have seen screened in/enclosed porches on the side of patio villas on end lots but I have never seen a birdcage at a patio villa home. I have seen a few with awnings over the patio doors. That picture gives me the impression that the house lot is at an angle. If that is true then that is probably why it starts out narrow & widens toward the back.
