Default Friends made on TOTV

I cannot tell you how many REAL friends I have personally made through this Forum. As many know, you get a feel for people as they post and some stand out as folks you would like to know better and some not so much. The monthly meetings we used to have at Crispers gave an opportunity for many of us to meet and chat in person. Early on we used to meet under the clock at Lake Sumter Landing and even some posters arranged to meet for dinner with a group of TOTVrs when a new person came to town. I remember when KathieI did that for our family. Samhass and Barefoot were part of the earliest group of friends we had in The Villages.

Some people have never wanted to give up their anonymity and that was fine. Bogie Shooter and Rubicon and Bucco always wanted to remain anonymous. Bogie Shooter became a real friend we never met and one of my most trusted posters.

On an online forum not everyone is going to "get" you or like you or agree with you. I find that overall this forum has been such a plus for exchanging information and ideas and even having my stubborn mind changed from time to time.

I wish that we could get some TOTVrs together again. Please send a PM to me if you would like to have a casual gathering under the clock in Lake Sumter Landing next month (When it is cooler) at say,,,four on the third Friday?

Graciegirl,
I would love to, but fall bowling will start in 2 weeks, and Friday is bad day for me, the only bad day for an afternoon meeting. That was one of the reasons I did not followup on the previous attempt, I had my days mixed up (senior moment). I will follow this thread to see if another time is suggested.
I would really like to get together with some of the 'gang'.

Gracie I already feel we are besties. It would be wonderful to meet you in person.

I’ll bring you, as promised, some halal chicken.

Then we can head of to city fire and down some shooters

I'll be hiding behind the bushes for the first few meeting.

I'll come out of the closet eventually.

I think we should try to do it for the first time anyway on the day we usually had it which I THINK was the third Friday, and then perhaps we can get a better direction from the group. Hate to leave anyone out especially our VillageTinker.

I would love to go to a meeting but my husband and I won't be moving to TV until January. Would be nice to meet some of you then!

Always wanted to meet you. I’ve been off the board a while (how do retirees get so busy?), will try to make it.

Exactly why I decided not to try to meet people this way because I'm not going to go into the bushes to try to find you.

Tal you really got off a good one. We are in also dependent on Nap Time that day. Who saved us when we landed in The Villages? My pal the OP!

Under the clock at 12 sounds like a spooky book!

O.K. y'all. Write this down. The third Friday in September is the 21st....We will meet under the clock at Lake Sumter at . THREE. Wear a name tag and if you want to be anonymous use a nom de plum or an alias. We can hopefully sit in a group in some chairs and chat a bit. If you want to be remembered bring a "business card" with your contact information.

That’s usually my Zumba time but I’ll be there.
