Don't limit yourself.

Babcock / Rooms to Go are two others that handle the Villages. There are others.
Southern Lifestyles is not cheap.

There are many reasonably priced furniture stores between Ocala and Leesburg.

There are also many stores that sell carefully used furniture.

You will find people that like a certain store..and then those that don't like it.

We bought all our furniture at Kane's in Ocala and love it. It held up for 4 years of renters..and 2 years of us..and I have no reason to change it.

I have picked up some small pieces at the consignment furniture stores.

Oh..and then if you like yard sales..you can find some gems of deals..if you are patient..and lucky.

A lot of people (according to my 20 yr Villager mother) like "White's" furniture on 441 up near Del Webb's Spruce Creek; and then there's the Markets of Marion huge permanent Flea Market a few miles further north on the West side of 441 and also my wife's favorite (she does furniture recovering and I do the stapling) the hospice thrift store in Bellville on the East side of 441 in the K-Mart plaza.

Villager99: Did you order furnishings for your house before you arrived in TV? Does Whites have a website where you can order furniture? Thanks.

We ordered a bedroom set from Southern Lifestyles. We are still up here in MD for 18 months, but are returning to our newly purchased CV the end of this month. Southern Lifestyles called us to find out when we were arriving. They got the key from empty nest and delivered the furniture, so our bed was there when we arrive. They will not even let us finish paying for it until we have seen it and are satisfied. I will go back there simply because I do not know anywhere you can find this kind of service.

See Bonnie at Southern Lifestyles.

Lindaz - Sounds like great service from SL! Where is your new CV? (You must be SO excited). ;D
I'd love to have a bedroom set there when we arrive. Were you able to pick your bedroom set from a Southern Lifestyle online catalogue, or how did you do it? Does SL also sell mattresses? I got other great suggestions: Whites, Furniture Barn, Kanes .. haven't checked them out online yet.

Hi Barefoot.
When we came down to close on our CV we rented a furnished villa similar to the one we bought.
We knew we were coming back in September, so we went bed shopping. We bought a bed, mattress, box spring, and chest. I got a recommendation for a painter. Had the painter in and then Southern Lifestyles delivered the bedroom. I cannot wait to see it!!!!!!!!!! We are in Amelia Village near Mallory Square.

I will be there on the 28th. (If I can wait that long).

Lindaz - Can you share with us what painter you used, did he/she come "recommended", and did you get your whole Villa painted? Good for you girl, you are very organized. :#1:

Smallwood Paint painted the whole villa. I went to the nearby Colorwheel store and chose the colors when I was there to close. I called Larry Miller 352-750-1379 and co-ordinated the painting long distance. The empty nesters let him in. This group is well known in TV and painted most of the homes near me. He came recommended by my builder. I can't tell you what it looks like until after the 28th. Based upon our phone conversations, I am very hopeful.

Then Southern Lifestyles delivered exactly what I ordered. We will have a bed this time (No chairs or other furniture) but at least we won't have to rent or sleep on a blow up bed. We are moving some of our furniture down too. That should arrive some time the week we are there, but there is no rush as we will bring bedding and dishes to live for a while.

Yes, I am organized as I manage things for a living right now, so this wasn't even a problem. Good Luck!
