We found that when it is cold outside the remote doesn't always work, but is OK once it warms up.

Then I had the same problems u describe ! I went on YouTube and sure enough I found a video
explaining how the use of led bulbs near the garage door opener can created these problems. I moved the light to another outlet and the problem disappeared !! Good Luck

I had this problem in the past and change the bulb back to an incandescent. If it was the bulb, it would work when the bulb is not lit.

It's not the batteries. I just changed out the batteries in one of the remotes and batteries wouldn't effect the Home Link.

I did check the lock button and the sensors at the bottom of the doors.

But thanks for the suggestions.

I have sometimes, maybe three in nine years, had to make sure the sending unit for the opener, it is on the floor at each end of the door, points at the receiving unit. Just bend it a little until it works. It is not hard to do and you don’t need to pay anyone.

If it had something to do with the sensors, the wall switches wouldn't work either.

It was 85 degrees yesterday but thanks.

[Q
UOTE=Dr Winston O Boogie jr;1909747]Has anyone ever experienced this and knows an easy fix so that I don't have to call Romac?

I came home lest night and the opener that I keep in the golf cart didn't work. It worked fine this morning however. Later on, I took the car out and the door would close using the HomeLink in the car.

Later when I took the cart out again it worked but the last time I took it out it didn't. I check out the opener in the wife's car and that one didn't work either.

So not, none of the three work. The door still function with the wall control.

Because all three remotes are not working I have to assume that it's something in the receiver.

Any suggestions before I spend money on a house call?

Which light? Why would this affect all three remotes?

Does he charge less than Romac? Looking at Angie's List he has mostly good reviews and a couple of bad ones. One comment was that his charges were outrageous.

laboutj 03-02-2021 08:21 AM

Is it a Romac? In October I bought an outside keypad for ours and after a month the same thing, works intermittently or not at all. I've tried batteries and nothing. Won't work for the longest time and then all of a sudden it will work for a day or two. Extremely frustrating, I should have put the $50 towards a new, quieter opener.

Had the same issue last week. I could only open my garage door with the wall mount opener. Called Ryan O’cull 352-617-0522.
He diagnosed the problem as radio
interference. He said the problem usually goes away in a few days. The next day the door openers were working. So I recommend waiting a couple days. If that doesn’t work, call Ryan.

I just had the same exact problem. The repair man told me the remotes needed to be recoded. Not an easy thing for me to figure out. Called Ryan Ocull Garage Door service. Cheaper than Romac and came the same day.

lvlwallach 03-02-2021 08:44 AM

Ryan Ocull is awesome. Quick and efficient and reasonable

Batteries or because all went at same time;suspect you just need to pair them with the main again.

Kathryn Putt 03-02-2021 08:51 AM

Greg has done a good job for us with several problems and he's very reasonable.

DON'T CALL ROMAC. There are other much more reliable (and less expensive) places. Now... if your remotes all quite working at the same time, it's not the batteries. It the wall control still works, it's not the electric eye. If the motor runs but doesn't move the door, there's probably a loose pulley, and easily fixable in five minutes. My recent issue was bit different. The door developed a mind of its own. It would open at random, even with the wall switch in the 'off position.' It had a few people scratching their heads, until a technician pointed out that the openers used in Villages-built homes are junk, and the main circuit board inside lasts only a few years. And the gremlins I had sounded like mine had died.

Sooo I could spend $80 for a service call, then another $90-100 for the new board. Or I could run over to Lowe's and buy a complete new opener for about the same money. And install it myself, but that was fairly easy.

you might not be at your own house. They all look the same.

RF Noise?

I had a garage door opener that worked fine for many years, but then started to get flakey when using the remote to open/close the door. It turned out to be the power supply for my deck lights which was mounted under the deck at the rear of the house. It was starting to make a buzzing noise and was apparently giving off RF (Radio Frequency) noise that was interfering with the remote control signal. I replaced the power supply with a new one and the problem disappeared! Good luck with your quest and be sure to let us know the final solution!
