Perhaps incorrect - The wall control over-rides the remotes.
Probably a faulty sensor.

OP, were the RED and GREEN Leds on the back of the romac opener flashing or constantly on? If so this will give an indication of what is wrong. There is a chart on the instruction manual that gives all of the codes. The manual can be downloaded if you do not have a copy. The other problem that i have seen is that the installers tend to simply wrap and tape (sometimes masking tape) the connections to the sensors. These are subject to high humidity and will corrode and and become unreliable. My solution was to break the connections, one wire at a time and use compression fittings. Hope this helps.

Problem fixed and I have some information to pass on. I called Romac and made an appointment. I then asked to refresh my memory on how to reprogram the remotes. When I hung up I went out and gave it try and both remotes worked.

This surprised me as all three remotes were not working I assumed that it had to have something to do with the opener itself. I drove my car out to rest the Home Link and to my bewilderment, it was working without being re programmed.

So I called Romac back to cancel the appointment and relayed that I though that the whole thing was very strange. The woman on the phone asked me if I had had a power outage recently. I recalled that a few days ago, our power went out for about three seconds and came back on. Evidently, when this happens, the computer loses the connection to the remotes. I asked why the Home Link suddenly worked and she said that often when the remote that was originally used to program Home Link is reset, the Home Link will work as well.

So if you have a problem and you have lost power no matter how briefly, that could be your answer.

This sound like the sensor at the bottom of the door is not aligned properly or something is blocking it.

In my Florida neighborhood, occasionally a lightning strike will take out a garage door opener or a pool pump. Have you had any recent storms with lightning in TV?

I came home lest night and the opener that I keep in the golf cart didn't work. It worked fine this morning however. Later on, I took the car out and the door would close using the HomeLink in the car.

Later when I took the cart out again it worked but the last time I took it out it didn't. I check out the opener in the wife's car and that one didn't work either.

So not, none of the three work. The door still function with the wall control.

Because all three remotes are not working I have to assume that it's something in the receiver.

Any suggestions before I spend money on a house call?

If you haven’t checked the batteries do that first. Next step, especially if the door is opening with someone else’s opener is to reset the Romac system. Romac emailed me the instructions. If you can’t get them from them let me know.

The wall control won't override the "obstruction" sensor. That's the little beam of light near the floor from one edge of the door to the other. This is to prevent people from getting crushed by a closing garage door.

If the red light is blinking, there's an obstruction in the way or else someone has knocked one of the beams out of alignment.

This same thing happens to us all the time. My husband has to reprogram the garage door opener every time. Not sure why this happens though but reprogramming works for awhile

I didn't see your update when I posted earlier. Sounds as though you were able to troubleshoot the problem. Glad you were able to fix it so easily. It's crazy how temperamental these garage openers can be!

Check the little white wires that go to your 2 garage door sensors. After 5 or 6 years, they have a tendency to rust off, causing bad connections. This has happened to me in both of the homes I have had in The Villages. They are pretty easy to reconnect.

Change the batteries

Happened to me once. Discovered after exhausting all other possibilities that the wiring at the electric eye on the garage door had finally corroded so my it just stopped working. The original house installers did a bad job but at least it lasted a 18 months so it was beyond year warranty. As a handy guy I just cut back the bad corroded wire reconnected and sealed it better. Has worked fine for the last 4 years.

Most likely it's that. What opener do you have. I am a garage tech.

The safety beams only affect it closing never opening. Also if it works normally from wall it's not sensors.
